Out of the Cold Georgetown A Program of Knox Presbyterian Church

We are not affiliated with the Out of the Cold Foundation.

Out of the Cold is an emergency program that provides homeless persons with a hot meal and a warm, safe place to sleep during the cold-weather months of November-April. We will not be open every night, but we will strive to be open as many nights as we have volunteers to cover. If you are interested in volunteering or contributing in another way, please email [email protected]

the Privacy and Safety of our volunteers: if you see someone in need, please direct them to the church. Please do not provide contact information or home addresses of our volunteers.

Year-End Statistics:
We would like to take this opportunity to clear up some confusion that has been communicated to us. While there were a couple of nights that we were operating at capacity, the vast majority of nights we were not at capacity.

However, we were still very busy: our statistics for the 2025-26 winter are:

We were open 145 out of 145 possible nights.
We had 42 different people who stayed at least one night.
We provided 952 person-nights (one person in one bed for one night).
We had an average of 6.6 guests a night.
The average stay for a guest was 22.7 nights.
