After 10 incredible years of service, compassion, and community, we are writing to share that Pack a Bag for a Friend Foundation has officially retired!
This decision was not made lightly. What began as a small idea rooted in kindness has grown into something far greater than we could have ever imagined—thanks entirely to you.
To our donors, volunteers, partners, sponsors, supporters, and friends: thank you. Your generosity, trust, time, and belief in our mission carried us through a decade of meaningful work. Together, we have made a real and lasting difference in the lives of so many, and that impact will continue to be felt long after this chapter closes.
We are incredibly proud of what has been accomplished over the past 10 years and deeply grateful for the community that stood beside us every step of the way. None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support.
As we reflect on this journey, our hearts are full—full of gratitude, full of memories, and full of appreciation for everyone who helped make Pack a Bag for a Friend Foundation what it became.

The main focal point of most festive meals is the turkey — and did we ever have turkeys! 🦃
This year, we distributed 600 twenty-pound turkeys to families in need across the Halton Region, helping ensure their holiday tables were filled with warmth and nourishment!
This incredible accomplishment is all thanks to Heather Gerrits “Turkey Tuesday” fundraising initiative, along with the hundreds of generous donors who stepped up with open hearts to make it possible.
And just look at the beauty that Travis Gerrits is proudly displaying on delivery day — a true symbol of community in action.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make this meaningful support a reality for so many families. 💛

🎉 Mission Accomplished! 🎉
The 2025 Pack A Bag for a Friend Foundation Backpack & Food Hamper Delivery is officially complete! It was a true reflection of what community looks like.

This season, we had a few challenges thrown our way; however, as always, our incredible Milton/Halton community stepped up and helped make it all happen.

From donors and volunteers to partners and supporters—this success belongs to all of you. We truly could not have done it without you. There are so many who contributed that it’s impossible to mention everyone without possibly leaving someone out.

Because of the generosity, compassion, and teamwork of our community, families and children will head into the holidays with full backpacks, full cupboards, and full hearts. We are beyond grateful to everyone who made this possible and from the very bottom of our hearts, a sincere THANK YOU!

The Milton U11 ALH team recently collected toys they thought that other childen their age might like! We can assure you that those toys are going to make some happy children at the holidays! Love the community spirit!

The North Halton Girls Hockey Assocation have a couple of special Twister Teams . The U13A team collected Toys, and the U13BB team collected Hats & Mittens. What a great way to think of others within your community! THANK YOU!

One our very own local Milton companies - "Uline", got creative in looking for a way to help support Pack a Bag for a Friend. They hosted a "SOCKVEMBER" event and collected an assortment of over 700 pairs of socks! WOW - there will be some warm feet over the winter months. AMAZING!

For the 3rd year in a row, Bennington Financial Corp. collected toys to help us fill our backpacks. This year it was for the 10 yr old boys - look at this amazing selection! Pretty cool toys! There will be some very happy boys.
