Welcome back to , where we explore English language words that aren't used or heard as often in our everyday lives. I particularly find it fun when a word relates to language or storytelling itself, so this word counts as extra fun. The word "Diagetic" comes from a Greek term meaning "pertaining to a narrative".

September 30 is recognized as Orange Shirt Day, an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day inspired by the story of Indian Residential School Survivor.

Many across Canada wear an orange shirt on this day to honour the children who survived Indian Residential Schools and to remember those who did not.

An important message from our friends at the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum - Forum canadien sur l'apprentissage:
📊 Over the next decade, Canada could need 292,700 new journeypersons in Red Seal trades to help address current vacancies and keep pace with future demand.
That includes:
🔹 187,700 certified workers expected to retire
🔹 47,200 needed to meet employment growth
🔹 38,600 needed to replace workers leaving for other occupations
🔹 19,200 certified journeyperson vacancies already unfilled (2025)
With apprenticeship registrations at record levels, the opportunity is clear — but attracting apprentices is only part of the equation. Supporting completion and certification will be essential to building the skilled workforce Canada needs.
