For many families in India, meeting basic needs is a daily struggle. With programs based on more than 60 years of experience, we know that the answer is not charity, but opportunity.

With your generous financial support, our field staff partner directly with each family as they find hope and self confidence, gain skills and training, and start a small business that will earn them a sustainable income - not just for today but for the bright future ahead.

Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada.

Thanks to your compassion, impoverished Indian families are breaking the cycle of poverty while improving their health, gaining skills, and earning a sustainable income.

Your generous donations enable projects that provide education, clean water, sanitation, hygiene, and more.

Many of our projects are timeless, such as building toilets. Others are new, such as clean energy from solar and biogas. Still others respond to crises such as landslides and floods.

Our donors, volunteers and staff make it all possible and we cannot thank you enough!

During the month of October, The Catholic Women's League of Canada is placing a special emphasis on Care for the Poor, which is something that is in their hearts every month.

We applaud their compassion and, especially with Thanksgiving Day coming this weekend, express a huge THANK YOU to the 165 CWLs who support Save A Family Plan's work with poor families and villages in India!

“Blessed are the Poor” (Matthew 5:3) is chosen by the national board as the focus for the national theme, "Ignite Your Passion, Empower His Mission." For the month of October, here are the suggestions for actions and events which councils can implement that represent each of the League’s three pillars: faith, service and social justice.

This week, St. Peter's Seminary is celebrating 100 years of formation in its building at 1040 Waterloo Street, London, Ontario, Canada.

Save A Family Plan has been here since 1973 and our office is on the third floor.

We are excited to welcome seminary alumni today as they tour the building and drop in to see us. Welcome!

Please note that our Canadian office will be closed tomorrow, September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, when Canadians honour the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
