Remember a Member podcast #8!
Tune in as host Krystal Lee Moore sits down with one of our newer members, Chris McAuley Founder/Owner of McAvoy Inc.

We were recently fortunate to hear Chris deliver his first LEA Craft Talk, and it was incredibly informative. Once again, Krystal takes the conversation a step deeper, exploring Chris’ background, his professional journey, and the path that led him to the LEA.

It’s an engaging conversation you won’t want to miss.

“What’s the best business advice you’ve received that actually changed how you operate?”
#6. "Treat people well."
Treating people well in business—employees, customers, and partners—is a strategic imperative that builds trust, fosters loyalty, and drives long-term success. It involves demonstrating empathy, integrity, and respect, such as through active listening, fair compensation, and recognizing contributions. This approach boosts engagement, reduces turnover, and enhances reputation. When new entrepreneurs try to cover all aspects of the business themselves, they may become their company’s best employee; but who’s running things and focusing on growth?

Remember a Member Podcast #7 is now Live.
This was a double treat with Couriers Plus as we had his Craft Talk this week also.

I really enjoyed this podcast with Brent Landers from Couriers Plus and Krystal Lee Moore as host. A member Craft Talk is a fantastic way to learn about our members’ businesses, but Krystal’s interviews go a step further by diving deeper into the people behind those businesses.

Through this conversation, we learned about Brent’s journey from Ontario to Australia and back, along with some of the fascinating lessons he’s learned — and the interesting things he’s transported — along the way.

Great advice on buying a home from our own Rhonda Stark - Mortgage Agent!

Great advice on buying a home from our own Rhonda Stark - Mortgage Agent!

Are you thinking about purchasing a home? Whether you are purchasing your first home or wanting to make a move to another home, you will need to do 4 key things to Get Mortgage Ready:

1) Assess your financial situation. Take a look at the amount of income you have coming in each month compared to the total expenses you have to pay out on a monthly basis;

2) Collect financial documentation to support your mortgage application. You will have to provide written verification of your income, assets, liabilities, and credit history during the application process;

3) Set goals with respect to the type of mortgage you can afford. Make sure you account for all of your monthly expenses when determining your mortgage plan. Lenders will only look at certain things when qualifying you, but there are many day to day expenses we all have that should be factored into your plan too. Not sure about this step? Ask about my Real Debt to Service Ratio Formula (RDSR), a proprietary formula I created to take you through this process; Real Debt to Service Ratio

4) Commit to a realistic financial plan that includes making mortgage payments and maintaining your desired lifestyle. It’s one thing to think you can afford your mortgage payments, but it’s quite another to know you’ve done your homework to make sure you are taking on a mortgage that you can afford. In some cases buying your dream home means making some small sacrifices to make it happen. If you plan properly you will prevent unnecessary financial stress down the road. If you commit to your plan you will better protect the lifestyle you want for your family.

“My goal is to work with you to make your dream of owning a home a ‘manageable’ reality”.

The London Executives Association (LEA) is a non-profit association dedicated to fostering the highest level of ethical customer services by its member companies. LEA members also stimulate business and professional development through heightened networking capabilities among local members!

The LEA tagline is "Remember a Member"...do you know what that means?
In the LEA “Remember A Member” means making a deliberate effort to keep another member’s business, goals, or needs in mind so you can help them later through referrals, introductions, opportunities, or support.

It’s a relationship-building concept, for example, if you “remember” a member who is: a real estate agent, a web designer, a mortgage broker or a lawyer, then when someone in your own circle mentions needing that service, you immediately think of that member and connect them.

AND that is what has made the London Executives Assocation GREAT since 1934, that is over 90 years of "Remembering A Member"!

#5. "Balance working ON business rather than IN the business."
When new entrepreneurs try to cover all aspects of the business themselves, they may become their company’s best employee; but who’s running things and focusing on growth?

An entrepreneur’s job is executive in nature. Yet, as anyone who has tried to launch a business knows, the line between working on the business and working in the business is blurry and hard to keep top of mind. Wearing every hat by doing all of the tasks that must happen in the business can bite into the time an entrepreneur has available to work on the bigger picture. Consequently, missed growth opportunities can have a devastating effect.

#4. "Prioritize the important things in life and business."
- Prioritize the important things in life and business…
- Family, how you treat people
- Personal time etc
- Fit in the next more important then the less important
- Emergencies and putting out fires will fill the rest
