Canada has unveiled a national 2SLGBTQI+ monument in Ottawa, creating a permanent space dedicated to recognizing the history, struggles, resilience, and contributions of 2SLGBTQI+ communities. National monuments can serve as places of remembrance while helping future generations understand the experiences of communities whose stories have not always been represented in public spaces. The Ottawa monument represents another step toward preserving LGBTQ+ history and ensuring those stories remain part of Canada’s national memory. 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈

They Are Called Bi-son, After All.

Two bison gave birth within an hour of each other, and did something never before seen.

Along the shoreline of Hebgen Lake just outside Yellowstone, two bison cows gave birth within an hour of each other — at the same spot. What followed had never been recorded in wild bison.

Instead of separating with their own calves, as bison mothers normally do, the two females stayed put and worked as a unit. Each one licked and cleaned the other's newborn. Each consumed the other's expelled birth material. And within minutes of being born, each calf was nursing from both mothers.

National Park Service biologists Jennifer Jones and John Treanor recorded the event on 27 April 2007 and watched the group for five and a half hours. The whole time, the two cows drove off any other bison that came near the birth sites — four eyes on the horizon in a landscape where wolves and grizzlies target newborn calves.

Why they did it is still an open question.

The researchers couldn't determine whether the two were related, and both were prime breeding age, so inexperience doesn't explain it either. The most likely answer is the simplest one: two mothers splitting an exhausting job got more calf out of it than either would have alone. Their write-up appeared in Canadian Field-Naturalist in 2008 and remains the only documented case of its kind

Meet you at the locally owned cafe, babes. We don’t sip here anymore - that’s the tea!

I will stand up for trans people every single time. Not because it’s trendy. Not because it’s good for business. Because it’s the right thing to do.

Tim Hortons made a choice. They chose to partner with a brand that continues to financially benefit someone who has used her wealth and influence to oppose trans rights. In my opinion, that’s choosing profit over people.

This isn’t “just coffee.” This is about where we spend our money and what we’re willing to support. People ask what difference one person can make. Everything starts with one person.

One person speaks up.
One person refuses to stay silent.
One person decides their values matter more than convenience.

Then another joins them.

If enough of us say, “Not another dollar,” companies start listening. Tim Hortons should apologize to the trans community, end this promotion, and make a meaningful donation to a trans-led organization. Accountability isn’t a press release. It’s action.

I’ll keep choosing people over profit.
