VICTORIA'S SHELTER
Women's Resources provides Victoria's, an 20 bed safe, short-term shelter for women, with or without children, who are seeking safety from abuse. The shelter environment assists women with crisis intervention, advocacy, counselling and referral services. Safety, security and confidentiality of all women at the shelter is very important. Emergency transportation is available to h

elp women get to the shelter. OUTREACH SERVICES
Women's Resources offers supportive counselling to women who have been abused or are currently in an abusive relationship. Counselling sessions focus on how their experiences of abuse affect their daily life. All services of Women's Resources are women positive, women centred, free and confidential. Counsellors are sensitive to cultural and sexual diversity. In this framework, outreach counsellors provide information, resources and referrals for housing, legal, financial, parenting, and employment matters. If you are unable to travel to Lindsay, the outreach counsellor may be able to meet with you in your community.

Avoidance isn't always obvious.

While avoidance may provide temporary relief, it can often make stress, anxiety, or challenges feel even bigger over time.

πŸ’œ Being aware of our coping patterns is an important step toward building healthier ways to navigate difficult moments.

This afternoon, Canada plays its second World Cup game, against Qatar. Win or lose, we know that domestic violence is likely to increase in communities across the country. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, preparation can help. Having a Go Bag is a key part of any safety plan. It can be kept in the trunk, at an office, or with a friend – anywhere it can be grabbed quickly. WSC invites you to visit MakeAGamePlan.ca for safety planning support.

Happy Pride Season!

πŸ’•πŸŒˆPride Week: July 6-12, 2026. πŸŒˆπŸ’•

KLP recognizes that June is Pride Month and many of you ask why we celebrate locally in July. It’s because we need to share the month with other Pride events and celebrations and we do not want to ask our community to have to choose between events when they can attend them all! We plan our events around other Pride schedules to ensure the biggest possible impact and availability from our patrons, community partners and sponsors.

Avoid pressuring them to make decisions before they're ready.

You don't need all the answers to support someone. Listening, believing, and being present can help create a path toward safety and healing.

Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity.
