Call 705-328-0469 for information on attending as our guest. The Rotary Club of Lindsay has had a great influence on our community and other communities around the world. A history celebrating 85 years of service (1922 - 2007) provides the following information:

A team headed by W.R. (Billy) Widdes and encouraged by District Governor Hart I. Seely was formed to promote a Club in Lindsay. Their efforts were successful, and the Rotary Club of Lindsay was Chartered on May 1st, 1922. Though not a Charter Member, future Premier of Ontario joined the Club in the late summer of 1922. The Right Honourable Leslie M. Frost wrote in 1972.- "The days of 1922 were quite different from the present, Lindsay was about half its present size, there were virtually no highway systems into Haliburton County, motoring to Toronto was a very considerable operation, our country was far from merging into a welfare state, and accordingly public service projects were quite different from those of today." Frost served a President of the Club in 1926-1927 and once remarked "I worked about as hard as when I became Premier nearly a quarter of a century later."

Lindsay Rotarians were pleased to participate in the 2024 Summer Outreach Lunch Program. Each Monday in July and August, Rotary members delivered lunches to the Dalton Public Library's program. The program was a great success again this year and 600 lunches were distributed. Since 2018, local organizations have partnered to distribute free, healthy lunches to elementary-aged children throughout the summer months, when children are out of school and therefore lose access to school-run nutrition programs. The purpose of the program is to mitigate the stress for families that struggle with food insecurity by helping to feed children in need throughout the summer months.
This year, 169 lunches were distributed at the Dalton Library Branch, 390 lunches were distributed in Lindsay, and 41 were donated to BGC Kawarthas! Thank you to the program coordinator, Laura, for her hard work this year and the local organizations that collaborated to execute this program: Lindsay Salvation Army Community Ministries, Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes, Rotary Club of Lindsay, Dalton Community Center/Library, and our 2024 sponsor, Kinsmen Club of Lindsay. Rotary Club President Heather Hebert and club members Jim Mackey and Al Goard joined organizations to celebrate the program's success.

The Rotary Club of Lindsay has responded to the recent emergency appeal for support from the Kawartha Lakes Food Source. Increased costs of food and rising numbers of local people seeking assistance have led to a severe shortage of food at KLFS and local food banks. Rotary Treasurer Mike Puffer and President Heather Hebert recently presented $1,500 from the club to Brittni Wells of KLFS.
