Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) is pleased to share that Dr. Jim Ebhomien will be taking over the family practice of Dr. Naomi Ecob following her retirement, beginning mid-May 2026.
Dr. Ebhomien will be welcoming all current patients of Dr. Ecob into his care. At this time, the practice will not be accepting new patients. Future availability will be coordinated through Health Care Connect (www.ontario.ca/healthcareconnect).
Dr. Ebhomien earned his MBBS from the University of Benin (Nigeria) and received his General Medical Council license in the United Kingdom in 2019. He brings valuable experience and a strong commitment to patient care.
"KLHCI extends sincere thanks to Dr. Ecob for her many years of dedicated service to patients and the Kawartha Lakes community, as well as her contributions to medical education. We wish her a fulfilling and well-deserved retirement," states Stacey Gudmundsson, KLHCI Chairperson.
Dr. Ecob states: "I think we should feel honoured that Dr. Jim Ebhomien is choosing to practice in the Kawartha Lakes. Secondly, I feel privileged that he chose to take over my practice. I know that my patients will be pleased to have their medical needs addressed by a well-trained, kind and experienced physician. I want to particularly thank the Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative, who has worked tirelessly over the years to attract physicians to the Kawartha Lakes, and for their dedication in finding this physician for my practice.”
Dr. Ebhomien shares that he is looking forward to getting to know and caring for Dr. Ecob’s patients in the coming months.
