The Kitchener Waterloo Business Women's Association is a networking group of career women representing a variety of business interests in Waterloo region. Our members bring unique skills, talents and personalities to the group, making it an ideal place to learn, grow and make new connections! Each member represents one business category (i.e. one hairdresser, one veterinarian, and so on). The KWBW

A is dedicated to building mutually beneficial relationships, offering opportunities for professional and personal growth, and to network. Membership includes these benefits of the networking and building your customer base, along with monthly lunches and guest speakers.

Ellyn Winters-Robinson of Ignition Communications was a guest speaker at a recent meeting. Ellyn is a very busy lady doing amazing things: from marketing, communications and tech PR, to writing a bestseller, being a top-notch Speaker and CEO of the Lyndall Project. Ellyn is using her breast cancer experience to create an online resource for people experiencing breast cancer and survivors.

Another lovely holiday gathering at Public Kitchen & Bar, from start to finish it was an outstanding experience. Thanks to those who were able to attend.

Thanks to Nancy Koebel for spearheading our giving initiative this year and much gratitude to all who donated to this year’s cause, Food4Kids Waterloo Region. As you can see, we collectively made a positive impact!

November 6th speaker - Jacqui Murphy, co-founder of ElderElla.com

Jacqui is a captivating personality! Her passion for elder care and creating a safe space was crystal clear. Developing thoughtful technology for families and caregivers to share information, and coordinate care for our loving elders.

She shared that her career in tech began just before the Internet boom in the late 90s, and more recently as a very successful Chief Marketing Officer in one of North America’s fastest-growing technology companies in 2019, 2020, and 2021, with 448% revenue growth over three years. She's been building and investing in technology companies for more than 20 years and, having tasted success a number of times. This drive and hustle was evident in her passion to bring this web platform to life.

The conversation was lively with many of our members sharing needs they had themselves experienced while caring for elder relatives and many ideas of what else could be added to this portal were shared.

Our most recent Out of The Box Lunch was held at the Kitchener Public Library.
Healthy boxed lunches were provided by our very own member, Destiny Moser, Founder and Executive Chef of FoodZen.
It was delicious and nutritious, while also being wheat and dairy free.
We were led on an informative tour of this valuable community resource. We were surprised to see the variety of spaces to rent for meetings, music recordings, and a small movie theatre. The outdoor patio has also served as a location for small parties.
The variety of rental items was impressive too. Libraries are synonymous with books, but they also rent musical instruments, camera equipment and skates. We enjoyed seeing all that our local public library has to offer.
