Our new phenomenal huge Laser machine has arrived! Through the combined skills, knowledge, talents and passion of all our volunteer members, we managed to acquire this dream machine for the Kwartzlab Makerspace

This machine is even able to process continuous feed material to bring those HUGE ideas to life. Tuesday evenings from 7-10pm are always open for drop in tours.

The first week of renovations for the new pottery space is underway. This phenomenal volunteer community has combined talents to tear down the walls, install the necessary electrical and start building the new walls. Drywall is up and taped and mudded and carried out to the dumpsters. Truly inspirational to see everyone collaborating to bring the vision to life. Stay tuned!

There are several types of Looms in the Kwartzlab Makerspace Textile area. Michelle has done a beautiful job setting up and creating these gorgeous cotton tea towels. Making plans for the build-out of our Pottery Studio. We have the wheels, slab-roller, sink and shelves already. Now the challenge is to make room for all of it! If you're interested in helping the build out, it is a great time to join and help us out. We even 3d-printed scale models of all the pieces we need to accommodate. All the work at is done by our volunteer members. Round of applause for everyone working to make this all come together!

Coming up next weekend! Be Gay Do Crafts, our monthly q***r crafternoon is happening on May 30th from 2-4pm!

This month we’ll be making our own colouring pages! Supplies, guidance and inspiration will be provided! We’ll be photocopying the finished colouring sheets so that everyone can go home with their own colouring booklet.

These are exciting times. Through a lot of hard work and dedication, our Pottery studio is up and running with a slab roller and multiple pottery wheels and the kiln and drying racks and tools. Wow! This is what can be accomplished when you have an enthusiastic and diversely-talented collaborative maker space. Our maker space is one of the largest in Canada 🇨🇦 and growing. Congratulations to the whole team that made this happen. And continuously improving each of our sections 🎊 👏

Wowie! Can you believe the last Saturday in April already (almost) here already??

Be Gay Do a crafts, our monthly q***r crafternoon is coming up on April 25th from 2-4pm. This month we’ll be making lunch cards! Use it to motivate you to do your chores, or set a goal or remind yourself to go eat more ice cream and maybe treat yourself with a sticker for treating yourself.
