Congratulations to the Woolwich Thrashers on being a 2025 Community Impact Grant Recipient!

For children with physical disabilities, participating in sport requires specialized equipment that can be costly. And for some children, this means they never even get the chance to play.

This grant, will help purchase sled hockey equipment, making the sport more affordable and accessible. With access to the equipment they need, more children will have the opportunity to be part of a team, make new friends, set goals, build confidence, and enjoy competitive sports in an inclusive environement! 🧡🏒

Congratulations to Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region on being a 2025 Community Impact Grant Recipient!

Around 45% of residents living in their domestic abuse shelters are children, and this grant supports those children through the Child and Youth Holiday Recreation Program.

These activities give children the chance to connect with peers, build friendships, and experience moments of joy outside of the shelter environment; which helps them reduce anxiety and cope with trauma. These moments create positive memories for children to look back on during an otherwise very difficult time in their lives. 🩵
