Beginnings is licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services to provide adoption services in Ontario. Beyond Ontario, we can provide adoption services on a case by case basis in provinces and territories that have provision for private adoption

💙 September is FASD Awareness Month

FASD Awareness Month is an opportunity to increase understanding, reduce stigma, and recognize the experiences of individuals and families impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). ❤️

At Beginnings, we recognize that every child has unique strengths, needs, and experiences. Children impacted by FASD may require additional understanding, patience, and support—and the families who care for them deserve compassion and encouragement along the way.

Greater awareness and understanding can help create more inclusive communities where children and families are supported to thrive. 💙

You can help an expectant mom feel cared for by providing a Comfort Kit—a thoughtful collection of essential items to help her feel more prepared and supported during her hospital stay and birth. 🤍

A Comfort Kit costs $100, but you can make a donation of any amount toward providing a kit. Every contribution helps!

Today is National Nonprofit Day! 🤍

Today, we’re celebrating the heart behind nonprofit work: people coming together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

At Beginnings, we’re grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside birth parents, children, adoptive families, and others as they navigate the complexities of pregnancy, fostering, adoption, and family building.

Nonprofit work is about more than programs and services. It’s about people. It’s about creating spaces where people feel supported, respected, heard, and valued.

We’re thankful for our team, our partners, our community, and everyone who helps make this work possible.

Whatever decision you make, you don’t have to navigate it alone. 🤍

For someone experiencing an unexpected pregnancy, reaching out for support doesn’t mean you have to know what you want to do.

You can reach out with questions. With uncertainty. With fear. With hope. With no decision made yet.

And whether you choose to parent, make an adoption plan, or are still figuring out what feels right for you, you deserve support without judgment or pressure.

For service providers, this is an important reminder, too: creating space for a person to explore their options can be just as important as helping them navigate the path they ultimately choose.

Support should never depend on the decision.

If you or someone you’re supporting is facing an unexpected pregnancy, reaching out can be the first step toward having a safe space to talk.
