Dear Friends of HATS,

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far to our Care Bag Initiative. Your generosity is helping us assemble meaningful, practical care bags that will be distributed throughout Hamilton in the weeks ahead.

Our care bags will be shared through our trusted community partners, including outreach teams, our hospitals, and support service agencies who work directly with individuals in need.

We are still collecting NEW, gender-neutral adult items for our handmade care bags:

• Warm gloves or mitts

• Winter hats

• Socks

• Underwear (men’s boxer briefs / women’s briefs)

• Travel-size hygiene kits (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion)

• Toothbrush & toothpaste

• Deodorant

• Chapstick

• Pocket tissue packs

• Travel wipe packages

• Mini flashlights

• Hand & foot warmers

• $10 Tim Hortons gift cards

• Financial contributions toward bulk purchasing

Pick-Up & Drop-Off Deadline:

January 30, 2026

Thank you again for your kindness, continued support, and compassion as we begin the New Year.

As we approach the winter season, we are launching our annual Care Bag Initiative—a community-wide effort to assemble 500+ handmade drawstring care bags filled with essential items that offer warmth, dignity, and relief during the coldest months of the year.
These bags are distributed by trusted community partners including
the HUB, Hamilton Police Service & Social Navigator Program, our hospitals, and Hamilton Court Services.
By supplying these agencies with practical, needed essentials, you are directly supporting the systems working daily to keep our community safe, stable, and cared for.
We are collecting NEW, gender-neutral adult items such as:
• Warm gloves and mitts
• Underwear (men’s boxer briefs and women’s briefs)
• Winter hats
• $10 Tim Hortons gift cards
• Deodorant
• Travel wipe packages
• Chapstick
• Pocket tissue packs
• Mini flashlights
• Hand and foot warmers
• Socks
• Toothpaste & toothbrushes
• Travel-size hygiene kits (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion)
• Financial contributions that allow us to purchase items in bulk
Every donation—large or small—lightens the load for front-line agencies and helps prevent situations from escalating into medical or safety emergencies. It strengthens the fabric of our city and reflects the truth that we all deserve warmth and dignity.
If you wish to give, arrange a pick-up, or explore ways to support this initiative, please connect with Sue at [email protected]
Collection Deadline: January 30, 2026
Thank you for standing with us,
for choosing compassion in a time when it is needed most.
