We're 4 days into September, with only a few weeks to go until the Ontario Provincial Women's Keelboat Championships. If you're hesitating to register due to access to a boat, did you know that there are charter boats available? These boats are limited in number and will be available to entries on a first-come, first-served basis.
Note, a damage deposit of $450.00 is required; reach out to the Regatta organizers with questions.

It was another busy week for Ontario Sailing staff and members of the OST last week, attending events for the final event of the OS Grand Prix Development Series and celebratory events for the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Olympics.
> Murray McCullough shared welcoming words after the 1976 Torch Parade on Wednesday, launching the final OS Grand Prix event for 2026. Coach Chris and a few members of the OST were in attendance!
> Coaches Chris and Violet, Board Member Alexis Cushing, and Member Services Coordinator Kathleen Rankin attended Sail Canada's Celebration of Sailing: Kingston 1976 Games Legacy at Kingston Yacht Club on Friday evening.
> Members of the OST competed in Youth Fest - final results of the GPDS to be posted soon!

The event is built on the foundations of increasing participation, leadership, and visibility of women in sailing, and aims to foster confidence, teamwork and connections.

Ontario Sailing is very excited to announce the return of the Ontario Sailing Symposium! On Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Abilities Centre in Whitby, the Symposium will bring together members in leadership positions across our province for a full day of learning, connection, and shared discussion.

This year's theme, 'On the Lifted Tack - Together' represents our community and our strive to grow together. Keynote sessions will address themes like Volunteer Retention, Marketing Strategies for Membership Growth, Risk, Policy & Safe Sport Environments, and Emerging Trends in Sailing.

Our next Grand Prix Development Series event kicks off with opening ceremonies tonight, and racing starting tomorrow! The week is sure to bring high caliber talent and exciting racing.
