Glanbrook Community Services is thrilled to be at the Seniors Kick-Off Event today, hosted by the City of Hamilton!

June is all about celebrating our incredible older adults, and today is a special day where like-minded organizations from across the city come together under one roof. The goal? To share resources, build connections, and make sure our local seniors have everything they need to thrive!

This is a completely FREE event designed to help you discover the amazing resources available right here in Hamilton.

Get ready to unleash your inner artist! We are thrilled to welcome back the wonderful sisters of I for another incredible sip and paint experience.

We’re changing things up this year, instead of a traditional canvas, you’ll be hand-painting your very own custom tote bag to take home and use all summer long! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or picking up a brush for the first time, they will guide you step-by-step through the process.

Your ticket includes a delicious charcuterie board to graze on, plus your first drink is on us. There is loads of free parking available on-site, so grab your friends and join us for a fantastic night of crafting, sipping, and socializing!

Welcome to the Team, Isabella!

We are thrilled to introduce Isabella Frankovich, who is joining GCS for the next eight weeks as our summer Events and Community Engagement Assistant!

Isabella recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Brock University and brings a fantastic passion for event planning, marketing, and community connection.

When she isn’t helping us bring our summer programs to life, she loves staying active, heading to concerts and sporting events, and picking up new hobbies. Isabella is incredibly excited to meet and connect with all of our amazing community members over the coming weeks, so please join us in giving her a warm GCS welcome when you see her around!

Our hearts are still so full from Saturday’s Caregiver Day Retreat! 🤍 We had a beautiful group of women join us for a day dedicated entirely to them. We are deeply honored by their vulnerability, their openness to share, and their willingness to build a supportive community together.

An incredible day like this wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing team of experts who provided deep insights into the realities of caregiving, made our guests feel truly seen and heard, and shared vital tools for self-care. A massive thank you to:

Last Thursday, the GCS team had the absolute pleasure of hosting our wonderful community members right at the Glanbrook Arena. We shared great conversations, lots of laughs, and an incredibly delicious lunch catered by the amazing Catering by Luigi’s! 🍝🥖

We love getting together for these special afternoons, but all good things must wrap up for the season. Mark your calendars because our last Diners Club before the summer break, will be happening on Thursday, June 18th at Case United Church!

Special thanks to our volunteers Virgins and Heather who helped make the afternoon run super smoothly.

🎨 Leveling up our creativity! 🎨

Today was such a blast at our Advanced Card Making class! A huge thank you to our very own volunteer, Diana Langman, for her amazing guidance. Navigating the advanced level was so much fun, and the results were absolutely stunning. It was such a great way to spend the day!

This workshop is part of our Caring Connections program, which brings mental wellness and creative workshops to women 55+ in our community. It’s all about staying connected and inspired!

Glanbrook Community Services invites you to our upcoming Caregiver Day Retreat. This isn’t just another meeting, it’s an active day designed to give you practical, tactile tools to navigate the “ups and downs” of the caregiving journey.

We know that caregiving is a work of heart, but it can also hold stress and trauma in the body. That’s why this day is led by a team of experts, including therapists specializing in trauma and certified mindfulness instructors. You’ll walk away with real-world strategies and enjoy restorative sessions like meditation and movement to help you reset.

This is your day to prioritize your own well-being so you can continue caring for those you love.
