We are grateful to Comfort Bears for their partnership in providing soft and comforting support bears to kids connected to Child and Family Services of Grand Erie.

Through the donation of teddy bears, children experiencing fear, uncertainty, grief, or significant life transitions are provided with a source of comfort and reassurance during difficult moments. As this partnership has grown, the bears have also been meaningfully incorporated into the work of our Child Protection Teams. Each bear comes with teachings that honour identity, belonging, safety and cultural understanding.

Thankful Thursday 💜🦋
This week, we had the privilege of spending time with Sue and Greg Wood of the Sydney Wood Purple Butterfly of Hope Foundation as they presented Comfort Bears with $5,000 raised through their fundraising efforts this year.
And as we accept this incredible gift, today is a day that carries a much deeper meaning.
August 20 marks 14 years since Sydney gained her wings.
For 14 years, Sue, Greg, Mal, Kam and all their💜 supporters have continued to turn their love for Sydney into kindness for others — supporting organizations and causes that make a difference in the lives of children, families and communities. Comfort Bears is incredibly honoured to be one of them.
In fact, the Sydney Wood Foundation has been with Comfort Bears from the very beginning. As one of our founding sponsors, and as we inch closer to five years of Comfort Bears and more than 15,000 bears delivered, we are reminded that our impact is never created by one organization alone.
It is created by people like the Woods, who chose to keep Sydney’s kindness moving forward.
Every bear delivered carries a little bit of that legacy.
A hug.
A moment of comfort.
A friend to hold onto.
A reminder to a child that they are not alone.

We’re excited to welcome back The Heritage Pantry by Claypot Catering to our That’s Amore Gala Fundraiser on Tuesday, November 3rd at Carmen’s Banquet Centre!
