The Mark Preece Family House is a caring, affordable place to stay for families with loved ones in Hamilton hospitals.

The House pays tribute to Dr. Mark Preece, who was a respected physician and valuable member of the Intensive Care Unit at Hamilton Health Sciences, until his death in 1997. After staying at a Family House in the U.S.A., family, friends and colleagues wanted to ensure the same type of support and comfort is available in Hamilton.

A perfect day for some deck work! 🔨☀️

Our outdoor deck is getting a much-needed replacement, and we couldn’t be more grateful to the wonderful people making it happen!

A huge thank you to John Elvin from SueJohns Home Improvements and his team, Raphael and Dayton, for taking on this project and generously donating their time and services at no cost to The Mark Preece Family House. John also arranged for all the lumber to be donated by Turkstra Lumber in Dunnville! 🪵🪚

Today, we’re giving a big shoutout and thank you to Susan and the Community Paramedicine Program at Hamilton Paramedic Service for their generous donation of household items to our House!

These everyday essentials help us keep our House stocked and welcoming for the families staying with us while their loved ones receive care at a Hamilton hospital or hospice. 🏡

Paramedics play such an essential role in our community, providing critical care, comfort and reassurance during some of life’s most difficult moments. We’re incredibly grateful for their dedication, compassion and the vital service they provide every day to help keep our community safe.

Remembering “Mr. Beamer” 🧡🏠

A room at The Mark Preece Family House can become more than a place to stay. It can become a lasting tribute to someone special.

Room 208 has been adopted by The Arsenault Family in loving memory of their son and brother, Ronald, affectionately known as “Mr. Beamer.” Ronald is remembered for his unforgettable smile, incredible determination, and his ability to embrace life and make the most of every moment.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to The Arsenault Family for choosing to honour Ronald’s legacy in such a meaningful way. Their generosity helps ensure his memory lives on while supporting families who need to stay close to their loved ones during challenging times.

Thank You for Making a Difference! 🧡

A huge thank you to Flamborough St. Johns, Campbell Masonic Lodges and HND for hosting a fantastic comedy night fundraiser in support of The Mark Preece Family House and raising an incredible $5,100!

The evening was filled with plenty of laughs, delicious chili and, most importantly, amazing community support. We’re so grateful for the time, effort and generosity that went into making this event such a success.

We’re incredibly thankful for the service clubs that make a difference in our community and help keep families close when it matters most.
