Planning to study a trade, engineering, or applied or environmental science next fall? The NCIA Scholarship could put $2,000 toward your next step. We’re giving out four of them!

To apply, you need to:
👉 Be a Grade 12 student at a participating high school in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland
👉 Be starting an Alberta post-secondary program in September 2027
👉 Be involved in an activity that gives back to your community
👉 Write a 500-word essay and submit it online

Canada has more than 840,000 km of pipelines carrying natural gas, natural gas liquids and crude oil to local communities, refineries and export markets.

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) Data Hub has free, downloadable maps that show it all, including:
🗺️ Crude oil pipelines and refineries
🗺️ Natural gas pipelines and LNG facilities
📄 Printable PDFs, including a 24" x 36" wall-size version (great for classrooms and offices!)

There are also data books on Canada's export infrastructure and refining industry if you want to dig deeper.

Big news from one of our member companies! 🎉

Wolf Midstream has announced a final investment decision on Phase Three of its NGL North System, an investment of about $500 million in Alberta.

The expansion adds natural gas processing capacity, a new cogeneration facility, and a larger rail terminal in Sturgeon County. Construction is already underway, and the first pieces are expected to be in service in early 2027.

The Government of Alberta is providing $275,000 through three scholarship programs supporting women pursuing careers in STEM, technical and applied arts, and fields that advance gender equality.

This commitment strongly aligns with the Northeast Capital Industrial Association’s work to foster future talent in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland.

Creating more opportunities for women in traditionally underrepresented fields is essential to building the diverse, skilled workforce our region needs. When we remove barriers to education, we open doors to meaningful careers, new ideas and stronger communities.

Big news for Fort Saskatchewan and the surrounding region! 👏

Planning is officially underway for a new collegiate-style school, a major step forward for students, industry, and our growing community.

With provincial funding committed, the project is moving into the design phase, bringing us closer to a modern Grades 7–12 campus that will replace aging schools and support a rapidly increasing student population.

What makes this especially exciting is the collegiate model, which connects students directly to career pathways in high-demand fields like trades, health care, and energy. This approach aligns education with the needs of Alberta’s Industrial Heartland and helps prepare students for real opportunities in today’s workforce.

This new school will expand access to in-demand careers, strengthen community growth, and support regional development. Beyond education, it’s an investment in the long-term economic sustainability and prosperity of our region and province.
