🎶 Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival – May 25–28!

Calling all musicians! The Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival is fast approaching, and we’d love to see you take the stage.

Our festival is a wonderful opportunity to perform for an adjudicator — an industry professional who will provide thoughtful, encouraging, and constructive feedback on your performance. This experience helps musicians grow, build confidence, and gain insights beyond what they receive from their regular instructor.

In past years, our festival operated under the Alberta Music Festival umbrella, which allowed top performers to advance to Provincials. While we are no longer part of that system, our festival still celebrates excellence locally: the highest-ranked performers in each category will receive awards and be invited to perform at our Gala Concert on Sunday, May 31 in the afternoon.

The Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival Association is a registered charity that fosters a love of music by offering performance and learning opportunities for people of all ages. For over 60 years, it has been a cornerstone of the community’s cultural life, welcoming 400+ participants each year. Performers share their music, receive expert feedback from nationally recognized adjudicators, and build confidence through artistic expression.

Their mission is to nurture emerging musicians, support music educators, and enrich local culture. Through scholarships, outreach concerts, and partnerships with schools and community groups, they help make music accessible, inspiring, and inclusive—ensuring it thrives in Fort Saskatchewan for years to come.

Dear Friends of the Festival,

For 67 years, the Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival has been a proud part of our community—providing students with a stage to share their talents, learn from industry professionals, and celebrate the arts. Generations of young musicians have gained experience, confidence, and lifelong memories through this festival.

But today, we face a heartbreaking reality: without more volunteer support, this may be the festival’s final year.

We urgently need community members willing to step forward and help sustain this tradition. Whether you can offer just a few hours or take on a more dedicated role, your time and energy will make an enormous difference.

Ways you can help include:
• Joining our executive committee
• Assisting with planning and organization
• Offering skills in communications, sponsorship, or fundraising

Without additional hands, the Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival will likely not be able to continue. We don’t want to see this 68-year tradition end—but we truly cannot carry it forward without you.

The Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival is looking for a volunteer with a knack for research and organization to help us grow!

We need someone who can:
✅ Search for grants that fit our non-profit educational music festival
✅ Write down the criteria and key details for each grant
✅ Hand everything off to our grant writer to complete applications

This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented who wants to make a real impact on supporting youth, music education, and community arts. No writing experience required — just strong organizational and research skills!

Our 67th annual festival takes place in May 2026, and your efforts will directly help us provide opportunities for young musicians to shine.

Congratulations to the incredible Anika Hipson!

We're thrilled to announce that Anika has won the "Gott the Gift Vocal Studio Award: Adjudicator's Choice for Vocal" at the Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival awards gala!

Her captivating performance of "Beyond My Wildest Dreams" from The Little Mermaid truly amazed the audience and adjudicators alike.

A huge congratulations to young star E. Guo for winning the Twice But Nice Preparatory Piano Award for Age 7 and Younger at the Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival!

E. Guo wowed us all with a stunning performance of Beethoven's "The Rage Over The Lost Penny" at the awards gala on March 16th, 2025. What an incredible achievement for such a talented musician! Keep shining bright, E. Guo! We're so proud of you!
