It’s Thanksgiving weekend and we want to take a moment to express just how thankful we are for our incredible families, community partners, donors, volunteers, and supporters! 🧡

We are so grateful to be part of a community that continuously shows up for children, youth, and families. Your kindness, generosity and support help us create opportunities, build meaningful connections, and make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve. And for that we THANK YOU!

Whether you’re gathering around the dinner table today or tomorrow, enjoying a delicious turkey dinner, making memories with loved ones, or simply taking some much needed time to relax, we hope your Thanksgiving is filled with love, laughter, gratitude, and maybe a little too much pumpkin pie! 🥧

🧡 Honouring Truth. Learning. Remembering.🧡

Today our BGC Fort Saskatchewan staff had the opportunity to attend the Truth and Reconciliation event at the Fort Saskatchewan Heritage Precinct and Festival Place in Sherwood Park! All members noted they were truly meaningful programs.

We spent time learning, listening, reflecting and participating in activities that helped us connect with the importance of Truth and Reconciliation. We had the opportunity to take part in saging, share bannock and tea, and gather around the warmth of the fire while listening to a beautiful memorial drum song. As the song came to an end two eagles flew overhead. 🦅 It was a powerful and incredibly moving moment that many of us will remember.

Today is another reminder that Reconciliation is not a single day or a single event! It is an ongoing journey of listening, learning and taking meaningful steps forward together.

Thank you to the Fort Saskatchewan Heritage Precinct, Festival Place and everyone who created such a thoughtful spaces for our communities to gather, learn and reflect.

Every child deserves to know they belong and that they matter! 🧡

⚾💙 JAYSCARE & BGC KNOCK THIS OUT OF THE PARK 💙⚾

A HUGE thank you to Jays Care Foundation for helping make an incredible summer of baseball possible for children and youth in our community! Because of your support more than 80 participants had the opportunity to spend hours learning, playing, growing and having FUN through baseball!

Kids learned how to throw, catch, hit and run the bases but they also learned about teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, perseverance and what it feels like to be part of a team. They stayed active, tried new things, cheered each other on, built friendships and created memories that we know will last long after the summer is over.

Without the support of Jays Care Foundation this opportunity simply would not have been possible. We are SO incredibly grateful for your investment in our children and youth and for helping us create more opportunities.

Also a BIG shout out to Coach Payton and Coach Blake! You both spent countless hours organizing, preparing and teaching the foundations of baseball. Your hard work, patience, enthusiasm and commitment was a huge part of making this program such a success. Most importantly you helped kids feel like they were part of something.

Thank you, Jays Care Foundation, Coach Payton and Coach Blake, for helping us knock this summer out of the park!
