⚾🎬 BATTER UP FORT SASKATCHEWAN MOVIE NIGHT IS COMING! 🍿🌟

We are SO excited for a night of baseball, movies, family fun and community spirit at Movie Under the Stars!

Join us Saturday September 12 at Legacy Park for a FREE outdoor movie night featuring TWO baseball favourites!

Activities | 4:00 - 8:00 PM
🎬 Rookie of the Year | 5:30 PM
🎬 A League of Their Own | 8:00 PM\

Bring the whole family, pack your blankets and lawn chairs, and come ready for an evening full of FUN! There will be inflatables, face painting, raffle prizes, photo opportunities and of course, plenty of movie-night treats!

Stop by the BGC concession and grab some hot dogs, popcorn, candy and drinks. North Central Co-op is generously donating all popcorn sales to BGC Fort Saskatchewan.

A HUGE thank you to Nutrien who will be MATCHING the amount fundraised in a donation!

We also want to send a BIG BGC thank you to the Fort Saskatchewan for putting on Movie Under the Stars and creating such a fun, accessible evening for families in our community. We are so grateful to be part of it!

This event can welcome nearly 1,000 people, so come early, grab a great spot, visit the BGC crew and get ready for an awesome night under the stars! ✨

This night is what we call a HOME RUN!

🎒📚✨ HAPPY FIRST DAY BACK TO SCHOOL! ✨📚🎒

What a GREAT first day back!

Our BGC kiddos enjoyed their Pool Noodle Entrance just as much as we enjoyed welcoming them back!

The smiles were BIG the excitement was contagious, and watching everyone run through with so much pride made our day!

But the best part? Hearing all about your first day of school! You were SO excited to share your stories, tell our BGC staff about your classrooms, teachers, friends, and all the adventures that came with Day One.

Here’s to a brand new school year filled with learning, laughter, friendships, confidence, and lots of BGC memories!

BGC Overnight - Life’s A Hoot - Part 1

🌲🛶 ONE WEEK LATER… AND WE’RE STILL TALKING ABOUT CHERRY ON THE LAKE! 🛶🌲

It’s officially been a week since our incredible overnight adventure to The Cherry on the Lake and now we wanted to take a moment to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Tammy and Paul for hosting an experience that our children and staff will never forget!

You have created an absolutely serene space where everyone truly felt like they had escaped reality for a little while. There were no schedules to rush through, no agenda to follow and no pressure to be anywhere else… just kids being kids, staff enjoying the moment, and everyone relaxing, playing, exploring and making memories together.

In fact, the agenda went completely out the window on this trip! And it was PERFECT. This was THE definition of old school camp … the kind of camp where you get a little dirty, stay up a little too late, explore everything you possibly can and spend your days outside. And the best part? Everyone wanted to stay longer!

We packed SO many adventures into our time there:
🛶 Kayaked the lake and discovered that there are actually FLOATING CATTAIL ISLANDS!
💦 Swam, splashed and took ALL the jumps off the dock and water trampoline!
🎸 Gathered around the campfire and sang classic camp songs with a guitar AND fiddle. THANK YOU Paul and Thomas!
🔥 Made banana boats and s’mores DELICIOUS 🤤
🐛 Caught worms, minnows, leeches and even WATER BEETLES! And yes… the kids were absolutely fascinated by the bugs!
🥷 Challenged ourselves on the ninja obstacle course.
🚡 Ripped down the zip line through the daylight… AND in the dark!
🌿 Hammock chilled and enjoyed some much needed downtime.
🍔 Ate A LOT of delicious food!
🧘‍♀️ Enjoyed yoga outdoors with an incredible yoga instructor, facing the water while learning and soaking in our surroundings.
🗺️ And to finish off the adventure, Tammy created an amazing trail map and team treasure hunt, sending everyone racing through the trails, following rhymes and clues to find the treasure! (That they actually needed to DIG up!)

It was the kind of trip where the experience became the agenda. So much laughter! So many dirty feet! So many mosquito bites and so many tired kids!

Cherry on the Lake was truly a highlight this summer.

Tammy and Paul: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for welcoming BGC into your space and sharing this incredible piece of paradise with us. Your generosity, thoughtfulness and hospitality created an experience that our kids and staff will be talking about for years to come.

Sometimes you don’t need an elaborate itinerary to create an unforgettable adventure. Sometimes you just need a lake, a campfire, some bugs, a little adventure and a whole lot of time together.

Thank you to Edmonton Military Family Resource Centre / CRFM d'Edmonton for including us in on your special Fall Fest Event today.

We have staff there be sure to pop by the booth and say hi to BGC Fort Saskatchewan & Fort Saskatchewan Families First Society! You can enjoy food trucks, inflatables, balloon artists, crafts, entertainment and so much more!
