Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Olive Harvest Event, and to all the volunteers whose time and care made the day possible.

We were honoured to welcome guests from many different backgrounds and nationalities. Together, we learned about the olive harvest season in Palestine and the deep connection between the land, its people, and the olive trees. We also spoke about the challenges Palestinian farmers face, including harassment by settlers and the effects of the occupation.

Thank you for sharing the day with us, listening, learning, and standing in community. Your presence made this gathering very special . 🇵🇸🫒

CPCA Statement Regarding Events at MacEwan University

October 23, 2026

The Canada Palestine Cultural Association (CPCA) is shocked and deeply concerned by reports of a physical confrontation between campus security and students during a Palestinian solidarity protest at MacEwan University's library earlier yesterday

Many of our members have children attending post-secondary institutions, and witnessing these events unfold is both alarming and deeply troubling.

We understand the anger and frustration these images have caused within our community. Our community deserves answers, and we believe the best path forward is through accountability, dialogue, and a commitment to ensuring that these concerns are taken seriously.

We call on MacEwan University to publicly address yesterdays events and request a meeting with university leadership to discuss our concerns and the safety and well-being of Palestinian students on campus.
