Meet Tux β Our Brave Tripod Hero πΎ His journey has been heartbreaking, but also full of hope.
Abandoned and alone, he was fed by strangers for some time, but tragedy struck when Tux was apparently hit by a motorcycle. His leg was shattered in five places, leaving him in excruciating pain.
Friends of Ferals was called and came to the rescue - we didnβt realize the severity of his injury but we trapped him and sought urgent care. We were faced with devastating news: Tuxβs only options were euthanasia or amputation. As a team, we knew we had to give this sweet boy the second chance he deserves. Tux underwent surgery to remove his back leg β and thanks to the skill and compassion of Dr. Wentzell and her team, his life was saved.
π Tux is currently recovering in a foster home's bedroom, as we don't have a shelter in Digby. Heβs on pain medication, wearing his cone, and receiving daily wound care. Despite everything, he is the sweetest lap cat lovebug you could ever meet.
β¨ The cost of Tuxβs surgery and care was $2,400, including his exam, vaccinations, medications, and the amputation itself. This is our fifth rescue in less than two weeks β and the need in our community is overwhelming.
π If youβre able, please consider donating to Tuxβs recovery fund. e-transfer: [email protected] Every dollar helps cover his medical bills and supports Friends of Ferals in continuing to rescue, foster, and re-home cats in need.
