Thank you so much to Macie Thibeault and Shelby Melanson for hosting their recent toy drive in Digby, NS. Together with their community, Macie and her mom Shelby collected 8 bags of toys, then made the trip from Digby to Halifax to personally deliver their amazing donation to the IWK. Thank you, Macie and Shelby for showing us what it means to lead with kindness and community spirit!

Great info for Sparks parents

Her first Girl Guides meeting is coming!

Starting something new is exciting… and maybe just a tiny bit nerve-wracking. Especially when you're 5 and your grown-up has told you you're joining something called Girl Guides. 😅

So, grown-ups, here are a few ways to get your new Spark ready for her very first meeting:

🎒 Pack the basics
All she really needs is a water bottle and comfy clothes – uniforms are optional! Other than that, just add anything your unit leader (Guider) has asked her to bring. No need to overpack!

👋 Talk about what to expect
Let her know she'll meet her Guiders and other girls her age, that they'll play games and try activities, and she'll start getting to know her new group. And remind her that it's totally okay if she feels shy at first.

💙 Don't worry about knowing everything
She doesn't need to know any Guiding songs, traditions, knots or secret handshakes before she arrives. (Okay, there isn't actually a secret handshake… yet. 😉)

🌟 Let her take the lead
She might jump right in. She might hang back and watch for a while. Both are completely okay. Give her space to find her own way into the fun.

And most importantly, remind her that all she needs to do is try. That first meeting isn't about fitting in perfectly or doing everything right. It's about taking that first little step toward something special.

1st Digby Embers did a clean up of the grassy areas outside our meeting place tonight. First, we learned about sources of litter and how it harms the environment and community. Then we took action to make our community a cleaner place. We filled two bags and then some!

The sun is shining so 1st Digby Guides and Pathfinders will be selling cookies TODAY Monday April 27th at the Digby Frenchy's Guy Frenchy's of Digby parking lot today from 5pm to 6pm

We have classic vanilla and chocolate sandwiches at this time and cookies are $6 per box or $72 for a case of 12 and can accept CASH OR CARD!!!

The Digby Ember’s Unit will be hosting a cookie drive through from APPROXIMATELY 6:15-7:15 this coming Thursday (that’s April 23rd) in the Digby Elementary Bus Loop!
We only have classic vanilla and chocolate sandwiches at this time and cookies are $6 per box or $72 for a case of 12 and can accept CASH OR CARD!!!
