The Bay of Fundy is one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world.

Every summer, its nutrient-rich waters attract an extraordinary variety of life.

Humpback whales. Minke whales. Fin whales. Dolphins. Harbour porpoises. Seals. Seabirds by the thousands. Even the occasional shark.

What makes whale watching here so remarkable is not just the chance to see a whale. It’s the opportunity to witness an entire ecosystem at work.

Every surface ripple, diving bird, and whale spout is connected to something larger beneath the waves.

That’s why no two tours are ever the same.

The Bay of Fundy is alive, and every day tells a different story.

If you’re sitting on a patio in Digby or waiting for the ferry, chances are you’ll spot one nearby.

And if you’re visiting for the first time, you may find yourself wondering:

“Is that seagull the size of a small dog?”

You’re not imagining it.

Many of the gulls you’ll see around Digby are Great Black-backed Gulls, the largest gull species in the world. With wingspans that can stretch more than five feet, they’re an impressive part of our coastal landscape.

Most visitors come looking for whales. Few expect some of the most remarkable wildlife they’ll see to be perched on a wharf railing, keeping an eye on their lunch.

One of the best ways to experience a place is through its stories.

Of Black Cats and Oxen is bringing local history to life on stage, and we love seeing community stories shared this way.

Visitors come for the views.

Locals know the harbour is much more than that.

It’s early mornings and long days.
It’s scallop boats and fishing crews.
It’s generations of families connected to the water.

The harbour is one of the reasons the Digby area still feels like Digby.

Some stories are bigger than tourism.

Fort View Cabins shared a beautiful update about a family they welcomed after the Long Lake fire, and the new beginning that followed.

This is community at its best.

❤️ From Tragedy to New Beginnings ❤️

Last summer, when the Long Lake fire changed so many lives, we were honoured to open our doors to a family who needed a place to call home.

For the first few months of her life, little Jade and her mom, dad, and furry family members made Fort View Cabins their home. During a time filled with uncertainty, they had a safe place to recover and make the choices needed to move forward❤️

Today, we’re thrilled to share that they have moved into their new home and are continuing to rebuild. And look at her now! Jade turns 9 months old today, she’s walking, and she’s proudly showing off her very first tooth. 🦷🥰

Watching this little girl grow has been a beautiful reminder that even after life’s toughest moments, new memories are made, milestones are reached, and brighter days do come.

Please join us in wishing Jade and her family all the best as they continue this exciting new chapter. ❤️🏡

Sometimes a cabin is more than a vacation stay — sometimes it’s a home when it’s needed most.

Flight of Fancy Arts Ltd is basically a treasure hunt disguised as a gallery.

You wander from room to room and keep finding things you didn’t expect: hand-blown glass, pottery, jewellery, carvings, textiles, paintings, and one-of-a-kind pieces created by artists and makers from across the Maritimes.

Part gallery. Part adventure. Part “wait, come look at this.”

A perfect reason to spend the afternoon in Bear River.
