last two weeks, we welcomed 600+ business and community leaders to the Halifax Convention Centre for our annual State of the Province Luncheon with Premier Tim Houston.

In conversation with Halifax Chamber of Commerce President Don Bureaux, Premier Houston shared his vision for Nova Scotia's future — making the case for thinking big when it comes to economic growth, natural resource development, energy leadership, and job creation.

The message was clear: Nova Scotia isn't interested in managing decline. This province is building.
From addressing fiscal challenges to positioning Nova Scotia as a leader in energy and innovation, the Premier outlined a path forward rooted in ambition and opportunity.

Thank you to our Champion Partner Scotiabank and all other sponsors for making this event possible, and to every leader who joined us for this important conversation.

❤️ Today is Red Shirt Day.

The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Red Shirt Day and support the ongoing efforts to create a more accessible and inclusive Canada.

We also want to acknowledge the incredible work of Easter Seals Nova Scotia, whose advocacy and programs help remove barriers and create opportunities for people with disabilities across our province.

Today, we celebrate the achievements of Canadians with disabilities and reaffirm our commitment to building communities and workplaces where everyone can thrive.

Mental Health Week (May 4–10) is a reminder that how we work matters just as much as what we work on — and sometimes the best networking happens when you step away from your desk.

Join us for Walk & Talk, a networking event along the Hemlock Ravine Loop in Bedford. You'll be paired with fellow members who share your professional interests, so the conversations tend to go somewhere meaningful.

After the walk, we'll have a local snack waiting — because good conversations deserve good fuel.

By May 8th. We'd love to see you there.
