A 45-year-old Abbotsford man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison after being found guilty in BC Supreme Court of in**st, s*xual interference, and assault. Justice Ardith Walkem handed down the sentence on June 9, 2026. The victim was under the age of 16.
Due to a publication ban protecting the identity of the victim, neither the offender nor the victim can be named.

Prior to and following his sentencing, the man ran a GoFundMe campaign going through at least two versions. The first solicited funds before the verdict, with the man writing in part:

The private campaign appears to have been shared through community and church networks in the Fraser Valley and has since been removed. If you were contacted about this fundraiser or donated to it, you were solicited by a man convicted of a serious s*xual offence against a child.
