✨Meet Kayla McInnis, Logistics Run Director, CIBC Run for the Cure Collingwood - Blue Mountains.

🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️This year marks Kayla's 7th year volunteering with the CIBC Run for the Cure and her
🎗️16th year with the Canadian Cancer Society!

🩷 The Canadian Cancer Society has always held a special place in Kayla's heart.

Through her involvement with the Run for the Cure, she hopes to show those living with cancer that they are not alone. As cancer has touched the lives of so many people, Kayla is passionate about creating opportunities for communities to come together in support, hope, and solidarity.

Kayla continues to dedicate her time to fundraising events like the Run for the Cure because she believes in the important work that they make possible.
Funds raised help support many vital programs and services such as;

🚕 Wheels of Hope

☎️ Cancer Information Helpline

🏕️ Camp Goodtimes

As well, resources that provide comfort and assistance to Canadians affected by cancer.

🏅 In recognition of Kayla's longstanding commitment and impact, she was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025 for her contributions and dedicated service through the Canadian Cancer Society.

🙌🏻 This honour reflects the passion, leadership, and countless hours she has devoted to supporting those affected by cancer.

❣️ One of Kayla's greatest hopes is to help create an event where participants feel welcomed, supported, comforted, and empowered. She wants every participant to know that their involvement makes a difference and helps ensure these critical programs can continue to support those who need them most.

⬇️ ½ ❣️Since the early 1990s, the breast cancer death rate has decreased by 50%.

👀 1/8 . 1 in 8 women are expected to face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime and 1 in 35 are expected to die from breast cancer.

🩷 / ❤️❤️❤️ 1/4 25% Breast cancer accounted for over 25% of new cancer cases in women. In 2026, an estimated 5,400 women will die from the disease.

Every October, during breast cancer awareness month, the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure unites and inspires people, families and communities across Canada to come together for one day of action that enables decades of progress for people living with or beyond breast cancer.

Marcelee Cameron
Community Engagement - Run Director

This is Marcelee's 1st year with The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

Marcelee's decade-long commitment to community service shows a deep-rooted passion for helping others. Supporting the run adds personal connection to cancer and brings a powerful layer of empathy to her new chapter with the Canadian Cancer Society.

"Volunteering supports those in need while grounding me in what truly matters. Being surrounded by individuals who are brave and resilient is an incredibly rewarding experience that truly puts life into perspective. Today, we all know someone who has been affected by cancer; fighting a fight is easier when you know you are supported."
