Garcia Rescue is a small non profit animal rescue organization based out of the Cochrane Ab area. We take in animals from all over Canada, owner surrenders and any where else an animal may be in need. we run solely on donations and volunteer time

Rex has been patiently waiting for some land of his own. To roam, collect sticks and show you all his loyalty on.Rex is happy to hang along side while doing barn chores, supervise lawn care days and laze in the sun. Whatever his person is up to outside, this sidekick is ready for it. Want to know where every rock is in your pasture? Rex will give you a full inventory, his favorite is to show you his football “hut hut” skills with them. Need some endless laughs and pure joy in your life, Rex is your guy! Rex’s ideal home would be a farm or acreage to run, enjoying his space as the only dog. Preferably no young children, due to his excited to see you jumping(this settles after a few minutes but he’s a big strong guy) and someone who is patient and understanding that even tho he is very obedient, Rex like all animals is still learning. Happy Sunday, Spud, Sprout and all of us at the rescue are just here to express our gratitude to Global Pet Foods Cochrane & Cochrane Pet Valu for their recent food and supply donations. Helping us keep everyone fed is a huge help and greatly appreciated. Also a huge thank you to the hard working crew at the Cochrane Bottle Depot for always helping us with quick sorting on bottle donations! And most importantly thank you to all of you, loyal supporters who are donating financially, spare supplies, extra food, crates/kennels and so much more. Thank you to our wonderful foster families. With out this amazing support we couldn’t do what we do ❤️

This evening devastation hit the Riversong community with a house fire. When we arrived on scene wonderful fire fighters were doing a great job getting quick to work and also saving the families cats! We stepped in and offered the family to assist getting their beautiful cats in for immediate vet care. Huge thank you to Dr. Tegan at Sunset Ridge Vet Clinic for coming to our rescue after hours and helping with them ❤️. Since intake we have treated burn wounds, eye trauma and gave them baths to clean off all the ash from the fire. We are currently working on warming these cuties up and will help the family with all the vet care costs. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Introducing Rex, this handsome, loving and playful young man came in very scared and heart broken from being abandoned. Since intake he has come out of his shell and is quite the character. He is learning that not all people are scary and this world does have love to give. Rex has shown to get over excited with other dogs and cats. He would be best suited for a home where it’s just him. He is a jumper and strong. Older kids who are familiar with young dogs his size would be best. Ideally we would love to find an active adopter looking for a best friend to adventure with. Someone willing to have the patience and time to guide him into the phenomenal boy we know he can be.
