Itโs with an overwhelming sense of gratitude that Recovery Acres was able to participate in such a meaningful event today, hosted by the Markin K Kossowski Foundation For Hope.
Recovery Acres Calgary Society - Addiction & Recovery Center and our incredible clients had the privilege of volunteering our time to help hand out clothing, backpacks, and school supplies to the amazing families and children of the Tsuutโina Nation.
Today was about so much more than handing out supplies. It was about community. It was about coming together, giving back, and showing up for one another.
And what a community it was! Along with all of the incredible donations of clothing and school supplies, everyone was treated to a free BBQ, with an incredible 625 burgers cooked and served to the community. Watching people gather, share a meal, laugh, connect, and enjoy the day together was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together with the simple goal of making someone else's day a little better.
There was something truly special about watching everyone come together to make a difference. Seeing the smiles, excitement, and joy on the childrenโs faces as they received their brand-new school supplies was genuinely heartwarming. Those moments are the ones that stay with you.
We are incredibly grateful to the Markin K Kossowski Foundation of Hope for allowing Recovery Acres to be part of this amazing day, and we are so proud of our clients and staff who volunteered their time and hearts to help make it happen.
Recovery is about more than changing our own lives. Itโs about finding ways to give back, be of service, and help make our communities stronger.
Today was a beautiful example of that. From 625 burgers on the BBQ to the countless smiles from children receiving their new school supplies, today was filled with generosity, connection, and hope.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible. We were truly honoured to be there. โค๏ธ
