Meet Misweet! 💕

Don’t let this tiny girl fool you — Misweet may be only 10 pounds, but she has the heart, confidence, and athletic ability of a much bigger dog! True to her name, she is an incredibly sweet, happy-go-lucky little girl who loves being around her people and soaking up all the love she can get.

But there’s another side to this sweet girl… her nickname is “Lil Ninja” for a reason! 🥷 She can jump, climb, and run with impressive sp*ed and determination. When the other dogs start running, Misweet is right there joining the stampede as if she weighs 100 pounds!

🐾 Walks: Misweet absolutely loves going for walks — although she currently believes she is a sled dog and her human is the sled! 😂 She loves to pull and will need some leash training to learn her manners. Thankfully, at just 10 pounds, your arm should survive the training process! “No purse please, I can walk!”

🍗 Food: She has no food aggression and is happy to share her space around meals.

🐶 With other dogs: Misweet does well with dogs and enjoys being part of the pack. She will let them know when she wants some personal space — and if another dog gets too close, she may show her teeth to say, “Back off, please!” It has never escalated, and she responds well when told “no.”

❤️ With her people: This little girl LOVES her humans! She enjoys snuggling, being close, and generally making sure she is part of whatever is happening. If there’s a lap available, Misweet is probably going to find it!

🏠 Crate: She is not a big fan of the crate. She did settle during the first few days when crated, but once she was introduced to the pack, we stopped using it. If her future family plans to crate her, she will likely need some patience and positive crate training to help her become comfortable with it.

Misweet is rarely left alone in our home, but she has not shown any destructive behavior.

🐱👧 Cats & children: Misweet has not yet been tested with cats or children.

Overall, Misweet is a sweet, cuddly, energetic little ninja packed into a very small body. If you’re looking for a little companion who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and happily curl up beside you afterward,Misweet might just be your girl! 💕🐾

Available for Adoption!

Chilito 🧡

Estimated Age: 7 years
S*x: Neutered Male
Estimated Breed: Carolina Dog Mix
Estimated Weight: 57 lbs.
Good with Dogs: Yes, with proper introductions
Good with Cats: Unknown
Good with Children: Unknown
Special/Medical Needs:
Estimated Energy Level: Medium
Current Location: Airdrie, AB.
Adoption Fee: $650

Chilito has been an absolutely wonderful foster, and it’s very clear that this sweet boy once lived in a home. He is fully house trained, kennel trained, and has wonderful manners in the house.

As an older gentleman, Chilito doesn’t need the same level of physical activity as some of his younger counterparts. He enjoys his walks, but he’s just as happy with a shorter stroll or a play session in the backyard. Don’t let his age fool you, though — this guy can clear a 4-foot fence with no problem!

One of the sweetest things has been watching Chilito slowly start to show interest in toys. It’s been so heartwarming to see him relax, settle in, and discover the little joys of being a loved dog.

Chilito has also met a couple of dogs of different sizes and acted as though they had always been part of his life. We think he could fit in very well in a home with another canine friend.

Chilito may not be a youngster, but he still has so much love to give. What he would love most is a family of his very own — one that will love him, spoil him, and make him feel like he’s always been part of the family. ❤️🐾

🚨 BARC’S RESCUE NEEDS YOU. $5 CAN HELP. 🚨

Update: So far we have $1,355 donated in such a short time. Let’s keep this groove going as we are still a long ways away from our goal.

We are currently sitting on $24,594.21 in veterinary bills.

Yes. $24,594.21.

And we need to bring that number DOWN. ⬇️

So today, we’re launching the BARC’s Rescue $5 Challenge. ❤️

If everyone who follows us donated just $5, imagine what we could do.

Because behind that $24,594.21 are dogs like Conway, who we tragically lost to parvo. 💔

Dogs like Mandy, who came to us limping and appears to have survived a gunshot wound.

Larry, who arrived with severe mange.

Paisley, who is currently battling puppy strangles and needs ongoing medical care.

Dogs requiring dentals and other medical care that we haven’t even had a chance to introduce to you yet.

And then there is Maeve. 🥺❤️

This tiny Husky girl arrived so severely matted that we had to shave her just to see what was happening.

She was constantly squatting, desperately trying to p*e — but nothing was coming out.

We rushed her to FenVet Beltline, where they discovered that her bladder was massively distended. They placed a catheter and drained more than a litre of urine from her bladder.

She had likely been suffering for days.

For the past week and a half, Maeve has spent her days at FenVet Beltline or FenVet Airdrie, receiving medications, monitoring and testing while everyone tried to figure out why she couldn’t properly urinate.

At night, she went home with her foster.

And her foster, Maddie, and her husband would get up every 30–45 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG to take Maeve outside, collect her urine and measure it.

Over.

And over.

And over.

For days.

At one point, Maeve had a catheter and diaper and required constant monitoring.

And every morning, when Maddie dropped her back at the vet, we honestly didn’t know what that day would bring.

Would Maeve block again?

Would she be able to p*e?

Would we have to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go?

For about a week, that was our reality.

And then, two days ago… Maeve started p*eing on her own. ❤️

Approximately 600 mL a day.

She’s finally past what we believe was the most critical point.

And we are SO incredibly grateful.

To Maddie and her husband for sacrificing sleep and giving this little girl absolutely everything.

To the teams at FenVet Beltline and FenVet Airdrie, who have spent day after day caring for Maeve, falling in love with her and doing everything they could to help her — including working with us to keep her costs as low as possible.

THIS is rescue.

It’s not always puppies and adoption photos.

Sometimes it’s parvo.

Sometimes it’s gunshot wounds.

Sometimes it’s mange.

Sometimes it’s puppy strangles.

Sometimes it’s a catheter, a diaper and getting up every 30 minutes all night.

Sometimes it’s sitting at the vet wondering if today is the day you have to say goodbye.

And sometimes…

you get to watch a little Husky girl finally p*e on her own. ❤️

That’s why we keep saying YES.

But we can’t keep saying YES without your help.

🐾 THE $5 CHALLENGE 🐾

Can you give $5 today?

$5.

That’s it.

If you can give more, amazing.

If you can only give $5, that is amazing too.

And if you can’t donate right now, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST.

Because your share could reach the person who can give $5.

Or $50.

Or $500.

Every dollar gets us closer to paying down $24,594.21 in veterinary bills and gives us the ability to help the next dog who desperately needs us.

❤️ WAYS TO DONATE:

💰 E-transfer: [email protected]

🐾 Donate online:

https://linkbio.co/DonateBarcsrescue

Let’s see what our BARC’s family can do.

$5. For Maeve. For Conway. For Mandy. For Larry. For Paisley. For the dogs we haven’t even introduced yet.

$5 so we can keep saying YES. 🐾❤️
