🇨🇦 OH, CANADA! 🇨🇦

Our next transport is coming October 17!

This incoming group has officially been given the theme Small Canadian Towns — because on October 17, these dogs will be starting a whole new chapter of their lives right here in Canada. ❤️🍁

But before they can pack their imaginary passports and make the journey north, they need foster homes waiting for them.

For these dogs, a foster home means everything. It means leaving uncertainty behind and arriving to a safe place where they can decompress, learn what home life is all about, and get ready to find their forever families.

BARC’s provides the supplies and covers veterinary care if needed while they are in their foster homes. You provide the home, patience and love.

🏡 No fosters = no transport.
Every foster who steps up opens a spot for another dog to come to safety.

They’re ready to start their new lives as Canadians. Now they just need somewhere to call home when they arrive. 🇨🇦🐶

🍁 FOSTER. SAVE A LIFE. WELCOME THEM TO CANADA. 🍁

Your dog’s tail is like a mood ring.

Studies show that dogs wag their tails to the right when they’re happy or confident, and to the left when they’re feeling uncertain or frightened.

And it’s not random. It comes down to which side of the brain is activated.

🧠The LEFT brain controls the right side of the body and is linked to positive feelings, so a happy dog wags right.

🧠The RIGHT brain, linked to fear and anxiety, sends the tail left.

Sp*ed matters too:
➡️ Fast wag = excited and fired up 💨
➡️ Slow wag = unsure, still sizing things up 🤔
➡️ Full body wiggle = basically the happiest dog alive 😂

Dogs can read these signals in each other too. When researchers showed dogs videos of another dog wagging to the right, they stayed calm and relaxed. When the tail wagged to the left, their heart rates went up and they showed signs of stress.

So next time your dog greets you at the door, take a p*ek at which way that tail is going. It’s probably hard to the right.❤️

Personality: Yvonne is the sweetest, gentlest little girl you will ever meet! She is a well-behaved "velcro pup" who loves to follow you around wherever you go. She is a huge cuddle bug who loves sleeping near her humans, but she goes straight to her crate whenever asked. She is food-motivated, which makes training a breeze, but she is respectful and doesn't forage or dig around for food.

Activities & Routines: Yvonne loves learning new tricks, playing with her toys, and winding down for cozy naps in her crate or on the bed. She thrives on human affection and close company.

Behavior & Quirks: She loves everyone she meets. As a growing puppy with baby teeth, she occasionally does cute, soft nibbles on hands or toys while playing, but it is very gentle. She doesn’t bark, love dogs, not sure about cats and kids yet!

Training & Progress: Yvonne is exceptionally smart! She learned sit, paw, and down (lying on her belly) in a single day. She is 100% p*e-pad trained with zero accidents indoors. She is also crate-trained and loves her cozy setup. Still in a progress to p*e and poo outside on a walk!

Health: Healthy, energetic baby puppy!

Ideal Home: Yvonne will thrive in a loving family or individual looking for a smart, affectionate, and loyal companion. Her ideal home will give her plenty of snuggles, continue her outdoor potty training with patience, and enjoy teaching her new tricks!
