Young people don’t need to have every answer before they begin.

Growth can look like trying something new, asking for help, learning from a mistake or choosing to keep going when the way forward isn’t completely clear.

Through Impact Society’s programs, young people are encouraged to explore their strengths, build confidence and resilience, and discover more of who they are and what they’re capable of.

Because being a hero isn’t about having it all figured out. Sometimes, it begins with simply taking the next step. 🧡

🏔️ Four days to go. And the mountains are getting bigger.

Ideas grow when we build together.

A shared challenge can give students opportunities to contribute, test ideas, listen to different perspectives and discover how individual strengths can work together.

Educators create experiences like these every day - encouraging curiosity, collaboration and learning through participation.

Through stories, activities and guided conversations, Heroes® builds on this meaningful work by supporting confidence, empathy, leadership and connection.

🏔️🏔️ Two peaks. One big day.

On August 25, the Peak Week crew will take on Snow Peak and Burstall Pass Peak - two mountains in a single day and one of the biggest days of the Peak Week journey.

22 km. Approximately 8 hours. 1,100 metres of elevation gain.

But Peak Week has never been about reaching a summit just for the sake of reaching it.

Every mountain is part of something bigger: raising awareness and funds to support Impact Society’s Heroes programs and create more opportunities for young people to build confidence, resilience, leadership, and purpose. 💙

And there’s more than one way to be part of the journey.

🥾 Hike - take on a challenge of your own.
💙 Donate - support the programs at the heart of Peak Week.
📣 Share - help us spread the word and bring more people into the journey.

Whether you hike, donate, or share, you’re helping move the mission forward.

Peak Week begins August 22. The mountains are getting closer. ⛰️

There is always more to someone’s story.

The way someone responds, the things they say and the perspective they bring can be shaped by experiences we may not always see.

When young people have opportunities to share and listen to one another, conversations can lead to greater understanding. They can help students recognize shared experiences, consider another perspective and respond with empathy.

Heroes® builds on the thoughtful work already happening in schools through stories, activities and guided conversations that invite students to learn more about themselves and one another.

🏔️ Say hello to Mountain 3: Opal Ridge South.

Don’t let the 5 km fool you. With 1,080 metres of elevation gain and approximately 7 hours on the mountain, this one packs a lot into a shorter distance.

Steep climbs. A rugged ridgeline. Big alpine views. And another challenge waiting for the Peak Week crew. 💪

Three mountains in and we’re only getting started.

Each mountain brings its own challenge, but they all lead back to the same purpose: helping more young people build confidence, resilience, leadership, and purpose through Impact Society’s Heroes programs. 💙

Opal Ridge South - we’ll see you August 24. 🏔️

Being present can turn an everyday conversation into something meaningful.

When an educator takes the time to listen, it creates room for a young person to share, reflect and put words to what they may be thinking or feeling.

Educators create these spaces every day through the trust they build, the questions they ask and the care they bring to their work. We see that work, and we deeply appreciate it.

Heroes® is one way Impact Society supports and builds on this work - through stories, activities and guided conversations that encourage young people to explore who they are, recognize their strengths and connect with others.

We’re grateful for the care educators bring to moments like these every day.

Why mountains?

It's a question we were asked when Peak Week first began.

What do seven mountains in seven days have to do with helping young people build confidence, resilience, leadership, and purpose?

The answer wasn't found in the mountains themselves.

It was found in Rob's story.

His journey reminds us that resilience isn't something we're born with. It's something we build - one challenge, one setback, and one step at a time.

That's why Peak Week means so much to us.

Every summit is a reminder that growth happens one step at a time. It's the same lesson we hope every young person experiences through Impact Society's Heroes programs.

💙 Whether you choose to hike, donate, or simply share the story, you're helping more young people discover what they're capable of.

The words students carry matter.

“I belong.”
“My voice matters.”
“I am capable.”
“I can ask for help.”
“I can try again.”

Realizing, “I’m not the only one who feels this way,” can be a powerful moment for a young person.

Having space to reflect, share and listen can help students understand themselves and others with greater empathy. It can also offer simple reminders they can carry with them: take a breath, talk to someone and know that it’s okay to try again.

Through the Heroes® programs, students explore confidence, self-image, empathy and resilience while discovering more about who they are and who they want to be in the world.

Each opportunity to reflect and connect can reinforce a student’s sense of belonging, confidence and capability.

Mountain 2 of 7: Pocaterra Ridge ⛰️

Today's Peak Week mountain is Pocaterra Ridge.

This classic Kananaskis hike is known for its sweeping ridgeline, beautiful alpine scenery, and incredible views. Every mountain on the Peak Week journey offers something different, and each one represents another step toward supporting young people through Impact Society's Heroes programs.

Over the coming days, we'll continue introducing each summit our hikers will take on during Peak Week.

💙 Whether you choose to hike, donate, or simply share our mission, you're helping make a difference.
