Burns Memorial Fund for Children’s Community Grants fund projects and initiatives that promote the healthy development and future success of children and youth from low-income families in Calgary. Grants cover one-time expenses that either directly help children and youth from low-income families or strengthen organizations that work primarily with this group. The maximum grant size for 2026 is $15,000 per grant. Funding is open to registered nonprofits and charities.

There are programs available to help keep kids active, safe, and supported during the day.

YMCA Calgary is offering School Service Disruption Support: https://www.ymcacalgary.org/school-service-disruption-support

The City of Calgary has set up School Disruption Camps with flexible options: https://liveandplay.calgary.ca/REGPROG/public/category/browse/SchoolDisruptionCamps
