Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember the children who never returned home from residential schools and honour Survivors, their families, and communities.
The Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown invites everyone to take time to listen, learn, and reflect on our shared responsibility to support reconciliation.
May we carry this commitment into our everyday actions, today and throughout the year.

Every child deserves the chance to experience the joy of the slopes. ⛷️

The Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown is proud to contribute $10,000 to the Canadian Adaptive Snowsports - Calgary (CADS Calgary). This funding will replace an aging sit-ski and outriggers, helping children and youth with disabilities access skiing and snowboarding safely at WinSport.
Each winter, 350 volunteers support 150 participants through the program.

Our Small Donations fund supports community programs making a difference in Calgary. Is your organization a registered charity with a program that could benefit from funding? Visit the Small Donations page on our website to learn more and apply.

Celebrating the 2026 Lou-MacEachern Rotary Scholarship Recipients!
We’re proud to celebrate this year’s recipients of the Lou MacEachern Rotary Scholarship, YMAP, supporting newcomer youth as they take the next step in their education and future careers.
Since 2006, the scholarship has supported 130 newcomer youth, with $150,000 provided directly to students pursuing post-secondary education.
This year’s recipients are pursuing studies in fields ranging from science, nursing and education to social work, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, baking and pastry, and aerospace engineering.
Congratulations to all of the scholarship recipients! We wish you every success as you begin this exciting new chapter.
A special thank you to YMCA Calgary and the YMAP program for their continued work empowering newcomer youth to build skills, confidence, leadership and strong connections within our community.

September is Rotary’s Basic Education and Literacy Month!

Education and literacy create opportunities, strengthen communities, and help people build brighter futures.
At the Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown, supporting education is an important part of the work we do in our community, from helping young people stay engaged in school to supporting their journey toward post-secondary education.
This month, we celebrate the educators, mentors, volunteers, and community partners who help make learning and opportunity more accessible.
Together, we can empower through education and create lasting change.
