We were delighted to welcome 10 new students to the Carl Smith Stay-in-School Program!
Our new students joined students from last year for an afternoon of creative activities, teamwork, and connection. Together, they designed “Future Me” pennants, completed a marshmallow tower challenge, and began building new friendships.
The Stay-in-School Program supports Calgary students through mentorship, tutoring, educational opportunities, and post-secondary scholarships.

The Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown, alongside the Rotary Clubs of Calgary Fish Creek, Calgary Stampede Park and Calgary West, helped support the Light Up the World 2026 SAIT Student Volunteer Solar Project in Pedregal, Peru.

The project brought solar power and satellite internet to local schools, directly benefiting 58 students and 15 teachers. With reliable power and internet, teachers can use digital resources to create more engaging lessons, while the wider community now has a place to gather, stay warm and connected.
