Community Savings Credit Union and their staff continue to show up for us in so many ways. From the $4000 donation at our 20th Anniversary dinner to launching their Banking with Purpose initiative, they've gone above and beyond to support our mission. Their generosity means more protein on the shelves for BC food banks and more support for the people who need it most.
A special thank you to Peter Radonjic, Burnaby branch Manager, and Raj Khunkhun, Chief Growth Officer who are pictured below for their commitment to making this partnership a success🎉

Community Savings was proud to present a $4,000 cheque to the The Union Protein Project at their recent 20th AGM. This contribution reflects the generosity of our staff, matched by the credit union to double the impact.

For 20 years, the Union Protein Project has been working tirelessly to support food banks across BC, helping address the shortage of protein-rich foods and ensuring people facing food insecurity have access to essential nutrition. We’re grateful to support such meaningful work.

Thank you Public Service Alliance of Canada - BC Region!!

It was such a pleasure to attend The Union Protein Project (UPP) AGM on Tuesday. PSAC BC West Fraser Valley Coordinator, Mike Reeves, presented the proceeds we raised during the raffle at our 2026 Regional Convention to UPP President and Director of USW District 3, Scott Lunny.

UPP is a non-profit that addresses the shortage of protein in BC food banks while also promoting unionized jobs. 💪

What a night! 🎉
On Tuesday, we gathered to celebrate 20 years of the Union Protein Project and what a milestone it was to mark together.
A huge thank you to USW Local 2009 for opening their hall to us and to their incredible volunteers who helped make the evening so awesome. We also can't say enough about the volunteers from USW District 3 and SOAR. Thank you for always showing up when we need you ❤️
This whole evening was a collective effort and we thank all that helped make it come to life.
A very special moment of the evening was having John and Mervyn join us. These two started the Union Protein Project 20 years ago, and having them in the room and hearing from them made the night truly meaningful. We are so grateful they were there.

We were also so happy to have Sally Lyons from Sources Community Resource Centres there to speak to our supporters about the awesome work they do, what challenges people are currently facing, how they are helping those in the Langley community. We look forward to working together in the future.

A HUGE thank you to Ritz Catering for feeding us so well! It was an absolute pleasure working with them and can't recommend them enough.

Thank you to Raj Khunkhun and Peter Radonjic from Community Savings Credit Union Burnaby branch for joining us and their support. Community Savings donated $4000 to the UPP that night and announced a new initiative to further support our project. Members who switch their payroll to Community Savings walk away with $200 in their pocket, and Community Savings will donate $200 to UPP on top of it! How incredible is that?! More info coming soon 👀

To Lisa Llangan (UFCW) and Sean Parkinson (FPSE), thank you for all that you have done for our organization while sitting on our Board. All the time and effort is truly appreciated. 🫶🏽We are excited to welcome Doris Mah (UFCW) onto our Executive Board and have no doubt she will help grow this project.

To all of our supporters, thank you. UPP is a non-profit that relies on donations and community support to do what we do, and we don't take that lightly. Your belief in this work, year after year, means everything to us. It is a reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together to help our communities. Showing up to support us meant the world. Here's to the next 20 years! ❤️

Check out these awesome photos by Wendy D Photography. Thank you for capturing our night. I'm sure we will be looking back at these at our next anniversary celebration!

Today is the National Day of Mourning for Workers Killed, Injured or Made Ill on the Job. If you can, join other workers at an event in your community today. If you are unable to go to an event, please observe a moment of silence at 11 a.m.

Today, we remember those we have lost and stand together to continue our fight for workplace safety. No one should be forced to risk injury, illness, or death because of going to work.
