Super fun event this Friday to lead in to

Bowen has always been a big supporter of beer from so I am overjoyed to have them here to sample their beers this Friday. Erik from is creating a special recipe sausage using Driftwood Fat Tug beer in the recipe so come down and have a "Drifterdog" too. He'll be BBQ'ing outside the store under the Driftwood tent.

While the tasting and Drifterdogs are free, we are raising funds to support the Helping Hand Fund. BICF will be there to answer questions about the Fund. We invite you to make a voluntary donation via the QR code or donation boxes. 100% of all contributions go directly to the charity, and official tax receipts will be issued for any amount over $20. In addition, Driftwood will make a direct donation to the Fund as will Bowen Beer and Wine Cellar. Every $ counts, and goes directly to supporting Bowen Islanders in need.

Tonight: The Tragically Hip — A National Celebration

A heartfelt thank you to Judith Gedye for her quick action and coordination in securing the opportunity to stream CBC’s The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration at the Community Centre Theatre tonight.

Thank you to all the community organizations, volunteers and community members who have come together in support of this special event.

The BICF is proud to support the event through a Neighbourhood Small Grant and is especially grateful to have been selected as the fundraising recipient. Funds raised will support the Kipp Thompson Memorial Bursary and Youth Resilience Funds. The funds directly support youth on Bowen Island by helping create educational opportunities, build resilience and provide meaningful support for young people in our community.

A night of Tragically Hip music supporting 2 BICF Funds!

The Bowen Island Community Foundation Is Hiring!

We are looking for a professional and proactive Executive Director. The new ED reports to the Chair and works collaboratively with the Foundation’s stakeholders, including the board of directors, committees, volunteers, donors, and the Bowen community. Key responsibilities will be in leadership, fundraising, community engagement and relations, and financial and operational oversight.

This is a part-time, 24-hour-per week position. Hours may be worked flexibly.

On Friday, May 22, the Bowen Island Community Foundation hosted its annual meeting and Community Impact Grants celebration at Cates Hill Chapel. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the strength, creativity, and care that continue to shape community life on Bowen Island.
