Hey Sailors! It’s SGM time again! This Tuesday, March 8th at 7pm, Downstairs at Doc’s. All welcome, bring proof of vaccination. BIYC members will be asked to vote on by-law changes. Other topics: Round Bowen Race, Spring Race Series, Brigadier… As meetings go they really can‘t be more fun! C’mon down and check out what’s going on with the BIYC this spring!

Hey Sailors! Thanks to everyone that showed up at the SGM, in person, or on Zoom. We had an amazing turnout and such a good meeting. Now that we have resolved to acquire Brigadier, we have a bunch of work to do over the next month or so to transfer ownership and put things in place. We’ll be working with our Members to develop the Adult Sailing Program, and also posting updates here. We are also now accepting new Memberships again.

Hello People, just a reminder that this Tuesday December 7th is our SGM, 7:30pm at Doc’s downstairs. A link is also available for Zoom.

There will be voting re Brigadier for members only. If you are not yet a member and wish to become one go to biyc.bc.ca to the membership tab and scroll down to the form. The deadline is Monday, December 6th to allow us to process memberships prior to the SGM. We will open up membership again after the SGM.

Hello Bowen ! BIYC is hosting a holiday get together December 3, downstairs at Doc’s 4-9. Proof of vaccination is required. There will be kids’ ornament making for our BIYC sponsored tree for the Festival of Trees. Cookies and hot chocolate for kids and an adult social! Come and join us!

Hello Sailing Community! We're wrapping up our 2021 year with the BIYC Annual General Meeting which will be held at Doc Morgan's Downstairs. Proof of vaccination will be required.

Hello Sailors, anyone interested in local sailing (Bowen Island Yacht Club members or not) is welcome to join the BIYC Facebook Group. We will be making some announcements there over the next few weeks regarding new developments in the Club. Whatever your skill level, or sailing interest, we may have some new opportunities for you in the coming year, including access to a 35 ft fleet sailboat for adult lessons, racing, outings, etc…. The BIYC has the opportunity to be gifted a 1970s C&C 32 foot sailboat. The boat is in tip top shape and would be a great boat for keelboat adult learn to sail and local racing. We would like to gauge interest and support for this project as it will require a financial and time commitment. If you are interested we invite you to become a member of the Facebook Group,

Hello all,

We have decided to go ahead with the Devil’s Tankard series, each boat/captain is responsible for their crew’s covid safety.

There will be no “official” shore side get together but hopefully we can socialize on the water : )

The schedule for the BIYC Devil’s Tankard series this fall will be, Sunday, Sept. 12 and 26, Oct. 3 and Oct. 17.

Registration is now open on the BIYC website.
