PATHWAYS PROJECT – COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSIONS

The Pathways Project is hosting a series of Information Sessions this November and December, providing an opportunity to learn more about the proposed Pathways CO₂ Transportation Network and Storage Hub Project and connect directly with members of the Project Team.

Attendees can visit information stations, ask questions, and learn more about the Project. A formal project overview will also be presented at 5:30 p.m. at each session.

- Bonnyville: Thursday, November 5 | GENMEC ACL Hall, C2 Centre
- Fort McMurray: Wednesday, November 18 | MacDonald Island Park, Miskanaw Ballroom

Poor air quality can be scarier than ghosts and goblins—especially for children and those more sensitive to air pollution. Check the AQHI, plan ahead, and enjoy a spook-tacular Halloween! 👻

🌸 Wild Orchids of the LICA Region! 🌿

Did you know that our local wetlands, forests, and natural areas are home to some fascinating wild orchids? 🌱

From the delicate Blunt-leaved Rein Orchid and Frog Orchid to the unusual Northern Coralroot and Spotted Coralroot, these remarkable plants add beauty and biodiversity to the Beaver River watershed. You may even spot the Small Round-leaved Orchid growing in suitable habitats!

🌿 Did you know? Some orchids have highly specialized relationships with fungi in the soil that help them germinate and grow. Coralroot orchids are especially unique because they rely on fungi for nutrients rather than producing all their own food through photosynthesis.

These native plants are a wonderful reminder of the biodiversity found right here in our region. Keep an eye out when exploring natural areas, and remember to admire wild orchids where they grow. Please avoid picking or disturbing them!
