Lakeland Society for Truth and Reconciliation

Lakeland Society for Truth and Reconciliation Honouring the children who survived Indian Residential Schools. Remembering those who didn't.

In light of the findings of unmarked graves at Indian Residential School sites, our grassroots movement began. Our goals are:

To create and support community activities/events that honour survivors of Indian Residential Schools and to remember those who did not;

To foster an environment of truth telling with respect and understanding;

To provide education/awareness relating to the impacts of In

dian Residential School Survivors;

To embrace cultures and traditions of First Nations, Inuit and Metis People;

To create a public space centered around healing and reconciliation that includes history, culture and traditional healing components, that is easily accessible to the general public and local schools.
