It was truly inspiring today to see Janet recognized at Women Making History in Alberta here in Calgary.
Janet leads with compassion, dedication, and a commitment to our community. What many people do not see are the countless hours she invests in policy and program development, always working behind the scenes to create meaningful change.
One of Janet's greatest strengths is her humility. She never sees accomplishments as her own alone. She sees them as ours, a reflection of the collective efforts of the people around her. She continually challenges and encourages us because she genuinely believes in each of our abilities to make a difference and serve our community.
Thank you, Janet, for your leadership, vision, and belief in us.

National Indigenous History Month is a time to honour the history, cultures, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada. It invites all of us to learn from Indigenous voices, acknowledge the impact of colonization & take meaningful steps toward reconciliation. June offers an opportunity to deepen our understanding of Indigenous experiences, celebrate resilience, and recognize the vital role Indigenous peoples continue to play in shaping Canada today.

The Cree language carries a quiet, powerful beauty, with every word holding stories, identity, and connection. Its sound and spirit remind us why speaking and sharing Cree words and Cree phrases keeps culture alive.
