As we begin a new week we are proud to announce our newest Board Member, Mike.

You may remember Mike as "Bob Barker" in the Price is Right themed games at our 2025 Empty Bowls Gala fundraiser.

Mike brings with him an immense amount of life and non-profit experience that will be an asset to our organization.

While at our core we will always be the Blackfalds Food Bank, looking forward the Beyond Food Community Hub aspires to do more for our community.

Mike lives in Lacombe, works in Red Deer and chose to join our non-profit board in Blackfalds. He recognizes our work, sees our vision and looks to be a part of our future.

We are honoured to join our local Blackfalds business community and other community groups in the Town of Blackfalds 2nd Annual Chairs for Charity Raffle.

Our inaugural chair design is the creation of our Board Treasure Jen's son. We're grateful for the time and energy he dedicated to this beautiful Adirondack Chair!

The 2026 Blackfalds Chairs for Charity is in support of Anam Rural Youth Association.

This past Tuesday, we paused to celebrate our volunteers with a BBQ supper and this provided us an opportunity to recognize a long-standing volunteer who recently stepped down.

For 12 years, Jeanette served with the Blackfalds Food Bank Society as a Volunteer, as the Food Bank Manager, as a Board of Directors Member at Large and as our Board Chair.

Jeannette continues her commitment to volunteerism, creating positive impactful spaces in our community, by dedicating more time to the Blackfalds Seniors Club.

Thank you for your years of service, Jeannette. You have been an integral part of our growth and success serving Blackfalds.

The 2026 Chairs for Charity businesses, organizations, and artists joined together today for a group photo.

While not everyone was able to attend, we thank all the participants this year for the incredible efforts they have put into their chairs - they are all amazing!

You can find the close up photos of the chairs completed so far at www.blackfalds.ca/chairs-for-charity. Once all chairs photos have been submitted, we will share them all together!

Tickets will be going on sale starting June 10 at all participating businesses!
