The Optimist Club of Blackfalds is honoured to be a finalist in the Not-for-Profit category of the 2026 Blackfalds Business Awards, presented by the Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce. We are proud to be nominated alongside two outstanding organizations: the Heart of Blackfalds Society and ANAM Rural Youth Association. Both are deserving of this recognition, and we will be delighted for whoever is named the winner on December 4, 2026.

The Optimist Club of Blackfalds supports local youth, and youth-focused initiatives. Guided by our motto, “ Optimists bring out the best in youth, our communities, and ourselves,” we help young people thrive and empower adults to make a lasting difference through volunteer-led service, leadership programs, and community action.

Since the club was chartered in 2002, we have supported families with sick children, created numerous indoor and outdoor activities for children, and contributed to many other community initiatives. We are currently raising funds to build a Toddler Park!

We are so excited to have started the 2026-27 Optimist year on October 1st!

This years, Optimist Club of Blackfalds Executive Board, was inducted by Lt Governor, Les Trevor, this week.

Great to see so many familiar faces down at the Abbey Center yesterday for the Alberta Days celebration! Burgers by donation from the Optimist Club of Blackfalds, glitter tattoos, kid’s games, a Mariachi band and more!
We had an absolute blast on the grill & raised some funds for the new Toddler Park we are building for the community ❤️❤️❤️🥳
