It’s an exciting and significant week ahead for ELC | ALN!

We would love for you to join us in prayer as our team gathers for three important times together:

🎥1 | Authentic Leadership Seminar Recording

The week begins with the professional filming of the Authentic Leadership Seminar—an important investment that we pray will help extend the reach of the curriculum and equip leaders in new places for years to come.

Please pray for Wes Boldt, author of Authentic Leadership – Living in Newness of Life, ELC Global Lead Trainer and ELC Board Chair, as he facilitates the recorded seminar.

Please also pray for each participant—that they would be encouraged and strengthened, encounter the Lord in meaningful ways, and that He would use this time for His Kingdom purposes.

💻 2 | Annual General Meeting

We will gather for our Annual General Meeting, celebrating all that Jesus has accomplished through Equip Leadership Canada during the past year.

For the first time, members of the ELC and ALN Boards will gather together in one place—celebrating God’s faithfulness, seeking His direction, and strengthening our partnership for the years ahead.

Please pray for wisdom, unity, discernment, the Lord’s leading, and safe travels for team members coming from across Canada and the United States.

🌱3 | Staff & Leadership Retreat

We’ll conclude our time together with our Staff & Leadership Retreat.

Please pray that these days would provide intentional space for renewal, fellowship, prayer, encouragement, and seeking the Lord together as we look toward what He has next.

Complementary, not competitive. What a powerful perspective for Christian leadership.

God has uniquely gifted each of us—not so that we compare ourselves with one another, but so that we can serve together. When we understand our identity in Christ and recognize the gifts God has placed in others, competition can give way to appreciation, collaboration, and unity.

🇬🇹 Guatemala, we love you! ❤️

As our time in Guatemala comes to a close, we leave grateful for the relationships formed, the stories shared, and all that God has been doing through this Authentic Leadership Seminar.

Our prayer for our brothers and sisters is found in Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

We are so thankful for our time together with Hope of Life International and for each person who participated, prayed, gave, served, and helped make these days possible. As the seminar ends, we pray that what God has begun will continue—that each participant will grow more deeply in their identity in Christ, lead from His grace, and invest what they have received into the lives of others.

A special thank-you to our facilitators, Pastor Onan Flores of Serve Hope in Honduras, an ELC | ALN Authorized Facilitator, and Pia Kaufmann, ELC | ALN Global Partnerships Director, for faithfully walking alongside and encouraging these leaders.

The seminar may be finished, but God's work continues. ❤️🙏

Pastor Onan Flores, from Serve Hope in Honduras, ELC/ALN Authorized Facilitator, and Pia Kaufman, ELC/ALN Global Partnerships Director are facilitating and walking alongside participants as they explore what it means to live and lead from a secure identity in Christ, grounded in God's grace rather than performance.

We’re thankful for their courage to bear witness—to share with others their personal experiences of God’s grace, faithfulness, provision, and transformation, and how Jesus Christ has been at work in their lives through the seminar.

Every testimony is a beautiful reminder that this is about so much more than completing a curriculum.

It’s about lives being impacted by the truth of God’s Word and leaders discovering more deeply who they are in Christ.

What if the greatest threat to authentic leadership isn’t failure, but the need to be great?

In Jeremiah 45:5, God asks Baruch a confronting question: “But as for you, do you pursue great things for yourself? Stop pursuing!”

It’s those words that should catch us: “for yourself.”

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to build something meaningful. To grow. To lead well. To make an impact.

But somewhere along the way, a God-given desire to serve can quietly become a need to succeed. And when that happens, our leadership can begin to shift from grace to legalism.

Legalism says: I’ve been faithful. I’ve sacrificed. I’ve worked hard. Surely God owes me the outcome I’ve been hoping for.

Grace says: I will be faithful with what God has entrusted to me and trust Him with the outcome.

That’s a difficult shift. Because sometimes faithfulness means continuing to serve when the recognition doesn’t come. Continuing to lead when the results aren’t what we expected. Celebrating someone else when they receive the opportunity we wanted. Remaining faithful even when the “great thing” we imagined never happens.

Maybe authentic leadership isn’t about having less ambition. Maybe it’s about surrendered ambition, ambition that no longer needs achievement, recognition, or influence to prove our worth.

The kind that can pray: “God, I want my life to matter. But I don’t need to be great. I want my life and leadership to be about You.”

There is tremendous freedom in reaching that place. Because the goal of authentic leadership isn’t to make ourselves great. It’s to faithfully steward what God has entrusted to us.

So perhaps the question for every leader is: Am I pursuing what God has entrusted to me or am I pursuing something great for myself and asking God to bless it?

🌎 A NEW CHAPTER FOR AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP NETWORK!

On August 17, 2026, we celebrated another significant milestone in our ministry of Encouraging Leaders as Jesus Intends.

The Authentic Leadership Network (ALN) held its Organizational Board Meeting in the United States. With ALN now established as a nonprofit organization in Arizona, our ministry has a registered presence in both Canada 🇨🇦 and the United States 🇺🇸.

Two countries—but one ministry and one global family:

🤝 One Strategy: Partnership-Based
🕊️ One Philosophy: Spirit-led and by invitation
🌎 One Team: Canadian and American Boards and Staff serving together

Our U.S. presence will help strengthen our support base and expand our capacity to equip and encourage Christian leaders around the world.

We are especially grateful for Gil Dukeman and Wes Boldt, serving as our U.S. and Canadian Board Chairs respectively, and for Dr. Paul Pascoal, ELC/ALN Executive Director, alongside our North American staff: Pia Kaufmann, Tom Arabis, Amanda Rein, and Becky Amthor.
