As a charitable organization, CHATS depends on the generosity of our donors, and our communities. Funds are used to enhance and develop our services and programs to enrich the health and wellness of our clients and their caregivers. Although we are partially funded by the Central Local Health Integration Network, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and United Way of York Region, our demands for increased services and programs necessistates additional funding.

Meet Wai Yeung, who has spent more than 25 years supporting their community and CHATS through volunteering. Wai began as a CHATS Board of Director and transitioned to a Transportation Driver. Wai Yeung was also awarded recently with an Ontario Service Award.

VP of Client Care and Services, Melanie Rowe, of CHATS, welcomed and thanked people for attending.

“Seniors Month is an opportunity to recognize the contributions, experiences, resilience, and wisdom of older adults. Seniors are volunteers, caregivers, mentors, friends, neighbours, and leaders whose impact is felt across generations.”

The flag is flying high at the Office, and was raised this morning. “As we raise the flag today, we recognize not only the contributions seniors have made, but also the importance of building communities where people can age with dignity, respect, support, and opportunity,” said CHATS VP Melanie Rowe, “Thank you to seniors- today and every day, we celebrate you.”
