Seeds for Change is a program of the York Region Food Network and was created to address multiple issues including: Obesity, Diabetes, Reduced Physical Outdoor Activity, Nature Deficit Disorder, Hunger, Food Security and Disappearing Agricultural Land. Over the next 25 years, York Region faces dramatic growth with its population anticipated to reach 1.5 million. We are here to help ensure that am

idst this growth, citizens will have opportunities to create strong communities rooted in appreciation and understanding of ecology and agriculture. SFC will work with municipalities to fulfill our common objective: for school and community gardens to improve the environment, health and community well-being as outlined in York Region's Sustainability Strategy, Building Markham's Future Together and Markham’s Greenprint Sustainability Plan.
