A full circle moment for our Newmarket group! 🌱💚

We’ve been so proud of the meaningful work we’re a part of through our community volunteering partnerships, and this week brought one of those special moments where everything came together!

Through our volunteering at the Community Garden with the York Region Food Network, our group harvested a variety of fresh produce straight from the garden. We then brought that fresh produce to the Community Fridge, our other volunteering partnership with the Newmarket Food Pantry. Our group packaged the produce into bags and added little positive messages for community members to find.

It was a great reminder of the impact that can happen when two amazing community partnerships come together. 🌱➡️🥕➡️💚

A look at our new Community Crew Activity! 💙

Each week, our Richmond Hill participants in The Community Crew take part in one of four rotating community activities:
📚 Little ABLE Library
🥫 Food Bank Run
🌿 Community Clean-Up
💻 Library Social Club

From giving back and caring for our community to building independence, learning new skills, and exploring local resources, The Community Crew is all about making meaningful connections while having fun along the way!

We’re so proud of our participants for embracing new experiences, learning new skills, engaging with their community, and making a positive impact each week!

We had our first volunteer shift at the Community Garden with the York Region Food Network, and it couldn’t have gone better! 🌱 A huge thank you to Paul, the Urban Agriculture Coordinator, for making today’s experience so fun, welcoming, and educational for our group. We got to explore the garden, learn how it’s set up, and put our weed-pulling skills to work. Those weeds didn’t stand a chance! 🪏

We’re excited to spend more time in the garden, learn new skills, and do our part to help. We’re grateful to be part of such a meaningful Newmarket community resource! 🪴

What an incredible day! 🎉 Today, Olivia took the bus independently for the very first time, and she absolutely rocked it! She knew exactly where she was going, and she was safe throughout her travels. We’re so proud of her for taking this huge step toward greater independence! Olivia is also doing such a great job at her first independent volunteer placement, where she helps sanitize the nursery toys at Northridge Community Church. Way to go, Olivia!! 👏🏻

What an incredible day we had at this year’s fundraising walk for ABLE! 💙

We’re so grateful to everyone who fundraised, sponsored our walkers, donated to our campaign, and came out to walk alongside us—brightening the sidewalks of Aurora in our iconic “We Are ABLE” blue t-shirts.

After the walk, we gathered at Aurora Town Square – Brevik Hall to celebrate with delicious nibbles from A Million Mouthfuls Catering and live music from our talented friends AinsworthDegrandis. There was plenty of dancing and great energy all around!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. We couldn’t do it without you! ✨
