Children in Mindanao, Philippines 🇵🇭, should have been celebrating the start of a new school year. Instead, they were running for their lives.

A devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck on June 8, claiming at least 45 lives, severely affecting more than 149,000 people, and displacing over 32,000 families. Many are now sleeping in the streets without access to basic necessities.

We are mobilizing with trusted local partners to provide emergency aid to those impacted.

From drilling wells and repairing pumps to leading sanitation training and worshipping alongside local churches, the Tanzania LIFE Team experienced a powerful week of seeing God at work through clean water and the Gospel.

Together, team members from Canada and Australia walked alongside communities in rural Tanzania, witnessing firsthand the challenges families face when clean water is out of reach. We visited former water sources, celebrated new wells flowing with safe water, helped install well pads, observed drilling operations, and saw the life-changing impact of Water for Life Initiative in schools and villages.

We were inspired by the joy, resilience, and hospitality of the Tanzanian people, and reminded that transformation happens when communities gain access to both clean water and the hope found in Jesus.

One of the highlights was celebrating wells funded by members of the team themselves—seeing the direct impact of sacrificial generosity on entire villages. We also joined JESUS Film outreaches, witnessing how God is impacting lives both physically and spiritually.

As the team travels home, we left grateful for the relationships formed, the lessons learned, and the privilege of seeing lives transformed.

Thank you for praying for the team. Please continue to pray for the communities we visited—that the wells will provide lasting health and hope, and that the seeds planted will continue to grow.

Recently, our team had the privilege of attending a Lay Leader Training in Orkesumet, Tanzania, where 30 church leaders from across Maasailand gathered to learn, grow, and encourage one another. Some travelled more than 100 km to participate.

Through the daily sessions, these dedicated leaders were equipped to better serve alongside their pastors and strengthen their local churches.

One of the most encouraging moments came during a Q&A session, where leaders shared questions about personal discipleship and navigating divisions within the church.

While the context may be different, many of the challenges sounded surprisingly familiar to those we face in Canada—reminding us that the Church is truly a global family.

An amazing night sharing about the water crisis with approximately 75 elementary to high school Scouts from Ontario.

It was powerful to see this group come together with compassion, generosity, and a desire to create change.
They gathered together to learn about the difference they are making as they raise funds for a deep-capped water well for a community in Africa.

This week, students from GAiN Canada and had the opportunity to serve in a warehouse operated on behalf of GAiN Armenia and GAiN Germany, sorting and preparing humanitarian goods sent from GAiN Spain.

What an incredible picture of the global Church working together — different countries, different people, one mission: bringing help and hope to those who need it most. ❤️

Every box sorted represents care, compassion, and the love of Jesus reaching communities around the world. Thank you to every student and volunteer who gave their time and energy to serve.

Ten years ago, a simple act of generosity changed everything for Aya Kope, Togo.

A community that once walked hours each day for unsafe water now gathers around a well that is still flowing—day after day, year after year. Children who used to miss school are now learning. Families who faced constant illness are experiencing improved health. What was once a daily struggle has become a steady source of life, dignity, and hope.

This well isn’t just still functioning—it’s still transforming lives.

Clean water continues to restore time, strengthen families, and build a future where communities can thrive. And it all started with access to a deep-capped well.

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and the incredible women around the world who inspire strength, resilience, and hope every day.

At GAiN, we have the privilege of walking alongside women in communities across the globe who are courageously changing their futures. Women who are starting small businesses, providing for their families, leading in their communities, and discovering the dignity and purpose God has placed within them.

When women are empowered, entire communities begin to flourish. Children are cared for, families are strengthened, and hope takes root for the next generation.

Today, we celebrate the women we are in contact with — their courage, their perseverance, and their dreams for a better future.
