British Columbia’s pure waters, clean air, rich soils, and moderate climate create perfect growing conditions for blueberries, making BC one of the largest highbush blueberry-growing regions in the world, and blueberries Canada’s number one small fruit export. Producing an average of 160 million lbs annually, British Columbia’s highbush blueberry industry ranks among the top five world producers.

The BC Blueberry Council represents more than 600 highbush blueberry growers in British Columbia. The Council’s vision is a sustainable blueberry industry that consistently delivers delicious, top quality blueberries to the world. This is achieved through promotions, research, and providing grower support. BC blueberries are versatile and fresh, harvested from July through September, and available frozen for berry lovers year-round. Every berry grown and harvested in BC brings natural energy and superfood health to recipes, tables, kitchens, and berry snackers.

A complete Grower Portal profile helps connect you with valuable benefits, including the 5% levy incentive, Crop + IPM Reports, CanadaGAP support, and other grower-focused programs and resources.

Starting November 1, 2026, BCBC grower services will move to the Grower Portal, making it even more important to have your profile completed and ready.

Soil Health & On Farm Demonstration Research Field Day

Fraser Valley farmers, join us for an afternoon of practical learning, local research, and hands on soil health demonstrations at Willems Berry Farm.

Learn how local blueberry and raspberry growers are testing cover crops, mustard biofumigation, humic acid, organic pest management, and other approaches to improve soil and plant health. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in practical soil assessments focused on water infiltration, soil compaction, and aggregate stability.

Hear directly from growers, researchers, and industry experts, and learn how on farm demonstration research can support regenerative farming practices and help farms adapt to changing conditions.
