We encourage athletes to think critically about their identity and place within the world of sport. Instagram: When words fail, a game can speak.

Through the integration of faith, life, and sport we believe each person can experience a victory beyond competition. Athletes in Action Canada is a not-for-profit Christian sports ministry dedicated to developing the total athlete. Through the integration of faith, life, and sport, we aim to see athletes engage with the Christian faith in Canada and around the world. Sport has the power to unite cultures, transcend values, and defy conventions.

Cedric Smith, a Queen’s University football player, began attending his AIA campus Bible study during a season-ending injury.

“Being a part of AIA has been an answered prayer.”

Through AIA, Cedric has been able to grow in his faith alongside like-minded people, talk about Jesus, and learn how to integrate his faith, life, and sport.

Our God is so good, and He is changing lives! 🙌🏾

Are you a university or college varsity athlete? Check out our pinned post to see if there’s an AIA Bible study on your campus, or send us a DM to learn more!

National Training Camp (NTC) is a conference dedicated to helping athletes across Canada know Jesus more deeply through the context of faith, life and sport application. By combining in-class instruction with on-field learning, athletes are challenged to experience the transformation of Jesus - on and off the field. The culmination of NTC ends with the ultimate test...a multi-sport event known as the S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

Exodus 18:21–22 in particular shares the wisdom of Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, who recognized that Moses was taking on too much responsibility by handling everything himself. Jethro advised Moses to appoint capable, trustworthy men who feared God and hated dishonest gain to help him lead the people. He recognized that the work was too heavy for Moses to manage alone and that sharing the responsibility of leadership would allow him to serve the people more effectively.

Jethro encouraged Moses to seek men who were honest, capable, and had a deep reverence for God. These men would share the burden of leadership with him, helping him carry out his responsibilities without becoming overwhelmed.

We can apply this same principle to our own lives by surrounding ourselves with godly people who can support, encourage, and walk alongside us. Just as Moses needed others to help carry the responsibilities of leadership, we, too, can invite trustworthy, God-fearing people into our lives to share our burdens and help us serve others well.

When the sports world tells you that surrender is weakness on the court, field, or playing ground, surrendering to the Lord is actually a sign of strength. It allows us to come into agreement and alignment with God, acknowledging that He is above all, so we can rest in that reassurance.
