🐾 AdoptJoy Adoption Event This Saturday! 🐾

Looking to add a new furry family member to your home?

Join us this Saturday from 12 PM to 3 PM at PetSmart Highstreet in Abbotsford for our AdoptJoy Adoption Event! Come meet some of the amazing cats and kittens currently looking for loving homes and learn more about the adoption process from our volunteers.

Want to skip a step? You can submit your adoption application online before the event and, once approved, schedule time to meet potential new "paw"mily members. You're also welcome to drop in and browse, but please note that applications must be reviewed and approved before any adoption can be finalized.

Whether you're ready to adopt or just want to meet some adorable feline friends, we'd love to see you there!

Our Summer 50/50 has now reached $2,955, with a current winning prize of $1,477.50! 🥳

We've also received $440 in additional donations, helping us provide food, medical care, TNR services, foster support, and second chances for local cats and kittens throughout the Fraser Valley. 💛🐾

But here's the exciting part...

There are only a few days left to get your tickets before sales close on June 30th.

Every ticket purchased between now and then helps grow the jackpot even more. The winner takes home half the final pot, while the other half stays right here in our community helping cats who have nowhere else to turn.

🚨 Temporary Pause on Owner Surrenders 🚨

As kitten season continues to ramp up, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily pause owner surrender intakes.

Right now, the number of cats and kittens needing help across our community has reached a level where we need to focus our resources, foster homes, and volunteer capacity on the animals already in our care, as well as urgent rescue cases that have nowhere else to go.

We are still accepting cats in rescue need from the community, including abandoned, injured, orphaned, and at-risk cats and kittens. However, these intakes will be assessed carefully and accepted at a reduced level to ensure we can continue providing the quality care every cat deserves.

This is never a decision we make lightly. We know many families are facing difficult circumstances, and we remain committed to supporting our community through our programs and resources wherever possible.

Fostering is one of the most impactful ways you can help. Abby Cat Daddy provides the food, supplies, veterinary care, and support. You provide a safe space, patience, and love while cats and kittens wait for their forever homes.

Sometimes I get so caught up in the day to day work of helping cats that I forget to stop and say something important:

Thank you.

Thank you to every adopter who opened their home.
Thank you to every foster who opened their heart.
Thank you to every volunteer who gave their time.
Thank you to every donor, supporter, follower, advocate, partner, and cheerleader who believed in what we're building.

Abby Cat Daddy has never been about one person. Every cat we've helped, every kitten safely born into care, every community cat sterilized, every family supported through our Feline Food Bank, and every adoption we've celebrated has only been possible because of this incredible community standing behind us.

What started as a small grassroots effort has grown into something I never could have imagined. Together, we've helped hundreds upon hundreds of cats throughout the Fraser Valley, and every single success story belongs to all of us.

And while I can't share all the details just yet, I can say that there are some very exciting things happening behind the scenes. The kind of things that will help us do more, help better, and create an even bigger impact for local cats and the people who care about them. We have been working hard, planning carefully, and laying foundations for the future.

So today, I simply wanted to pause and say thank you.

⭐️ Meet Starfish ⭐️

This beautiful 2 year old girl has mastered the art of being close... but not too close. 😹

Starfish loves belly rubs, neck massages, greeting her humans at the door, and spending her days soaking up the breeze by the patio door. She'll happily chat with you when she wants attention, but she fully expects you to come to her.

She isn't interested in fancy cat beds or fluffy blankets. Give her a patch of floor, a toy mouse, and a window to watch the world go by, and she's one happy girl.

If you're looking for a laid back, independent cat with a quirky personality and just the right amount of attitude, Starfish might be your perfect match. ❤️

☀️ Hot weather can be dangerous for cats, even when they seem to be handling it well.

As temperatures climb, make sure your feline friends have plenty of fresh water, access to shade, and a cool place to rest. Never leave a cat in a vehicle, even for "just a minute," and keep an eye out for signs of heat stress like excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting.

And please don't forget about our local community cats. 💛

Many don't have the luxury of air conditioning or guaranteed access to water. If you can, place a shallow bowl of fresh water in a shaded area, provide a simple shelter from the sun, or check in on the neighbourhood cats you know. These small acts of kindness can make a life saving difference during a heat wave.

Together, we can help ensure every cat stays safe, comfortable, and hydrated this summer.

It’s hard to believe that Abby Cat Daddy has only been around since 2022.

We’re still a small, grassroots organization powered by an incredible community of volunteers, fosters, donors, adopters, and supporters. Yet together, we’ve now celebrated 511 adoptions since we first began.

And while we accidentally missed the exact moment, Bojack was officially our 500th adoption! 🧡

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come:

🐾 2022: 30 adoptions
🐾 2023: 57 adoptions
🐾 2024: 81 adoptions
🐾 2025: 201 adoptions
🐾 2026 (so far): 142 adoptions

Lifetime Total: 511 cats and kittens adopted into loving homes.

That’s 511 second chances. 511 families made complete. 511 lives changed forever.

Every adoption represents countless hours of trapping, transporting, bottle feeding, medicating, cleaning litter boxes, answering messages, fundraising, paperwork, veterinary appointments, and the unwavering belief that every cat deserves a safe place to land.

To everyone who has adopted, fostered, volunteered, donated, shared our posts, or simply cheered us on, thank mew. You are part of every single one of these 511 happy endings.

And while we’re incredibly proud of this milestone, we know there’s still so much work to do. Here’s to the next 500 lives we’ll change together. 💛

Just under half way through the month and 10 kittens & cats have found their furever home this month.

Thank you to ALL of our volunteers who directly or indirectly helped these 10 cats (and the hundreds others adopted) reach their furever home- which is the goal for all of our adoptable cats.
